Who would you want as a marquee signing then?? Quite clearly we don't want to spend any money so we are resorting to Scott mckenna for * knows how much or loan market or freebies?

 

I don't want marquee signings. Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Craig Bellamy etc. complete wastes of money that could have been spent on a decent obscure player(s) who would have done better or similar jobs imo.

I just want us to sign players who can do their job and do it well.

Also i have said this many times before - we are not signing a no nonsense CB under Brendan Rodgers, ever. It's not going to happen. He doesn't want them and if he does get one signed for him he simply won't play them.

 

Lawell can start picking the team as well, just let Brendan do training.

I don't particularly want a marquee signing either but it's the only thing that is going to turn this transfer window into anywhere near slightly positive. Been a * disaster. Hope lawell and Co have had a cracking holiday cause they can't have been at work this summer. Clueless

I think we should open a thread for most obscure reason excuse for not signing anyone given by Brendan and Peter from 1st Sept

 

BR: “We need to strengthen the squad but what is important is that we strengthen it with quality. I’m not interesting in bringing in just any players.”

BR: “I could have added to the group a long time ago in terms of players. What we have to do is bring in players who are going to add real fierce competition to the squad because that’s something we need.”

 

Same * different day. The same was said when we signed Hendry and Bain

Do people think Brendan Rodgers is refusing to spend a big budget given to him by the board, or something?

Or do they actually think guys like Bain, Hayes and McKenna are his first choice?
