Hendry is the best CB
Rodgers knows that.I don't understand why many fans are not happy with him.If he had a guidance he would be a top class decent player.He can't be in pair with simunovic,I would like Lustig to be a CB to protect him with his experience.It's not his fault the way we are playing as a team.He did one or two mistakes but right after that he was eager to prove his worth.These are the players we want to play for Celtic, like him and Kieran Tiereny as defenders.
I insist in having Gamboa(RB),Lustig(CB),Hendry(CB),Tierney(LB).Those defenders are suitable for these positions
Our defense will be unstoppable.Come on Rodgers.

Was a yes when i thought boyata would be playing and before simunovic's horror show on sunday, opinion starting to sway the other way if we go into it with Hendry Simunovic and Lustig.

 

Can't believe the number of people who want Tierney centre half. He's a massive asset going forward.

We're struggling to score goals as it is. 4 goals in 4 games.

 

No my friend.Sorry but in counterattacks without having Tierney to stop AEK winger who is fast we are in danger.Celtic will have to use Tierney in counterattacks as we already have Sinclair(speed),Johnston etc

 

Can we pls drop lustig and have Gamboa play? So much better tbh and offers a decent option going forward/overlapping

 

If Dembele is not fit to start then I'd start Leigh. If anything just so we stop wasting all those corners and free kicks we've been doing lately. Seems without Griff nobody can deliver a corner and hit a decent free kick.

 

Just rewatched the first half of the first leg. And I watched it with a critical eye on our performance, because for some reason I thought the contention that we completely dominated the game was overstated [I suppose my view was colored by our lack of cutting edge when AEK went down to 10, but setting that unique part of the game aside for now].

Turns out, it wasn't overstated at all. We controlled the entire first half. I get they're a counter-attacking team, but there wasn't any counter-attacking to speak of. We were the only team creating chances, and their goal as we know came from what looked like an overcooked long ball from their own half. Their only other foray into our box was within the first five minutes and they got crowded out and the ball sort of ricocheted to Gordon.

Was encouraged to see our pressing high up the park was pretty effective - they gave the ball away a number of times. I'd like to believe it will produce a couple of chances for us in the return.

Forget the goal, McGregor was immense throughout. Linked up well with Eddie, KT, Ntcham, and Rogic.

Anyway. They'll be sharper. They'll be at home. But if something close to that Celtic performance is turned in, and something close to that AEK performance is, their luck will run out. Let's hope Dembele plays. Let's * well hope our alter ego away form is a thing of the past. No good reason we can't win this tie.

 

Great post mate. They probably came with the sole intention not to conceed. The away goal was a bonus. Celtic are veru unlikely to keep a clean sheet imo. One way or another, Its gonnae be a fukin long night on tuesday bud

 

What type of long night would you rather have?
1- early goal and defend for 90 blocking chance after chance
2 - 94th minute winning goal.

Think starting mousse and Eddie up top together with the likes of rogic, mcgregor and ntcham in behind would win it. Hopefully Brendan picks the right team. Ajer will be a miss, our defenders bar KT give me the fear

Quick direct passing and we will cut them open, Forrest and Tierney were ripping the pish out them all night, just the end product wasn’t there.

We should cut the side to side passing pish and go more direct, we need a few to step up and be brave with the ball.

Oh and * shoot more!

 

That's where Roberts is missing. He's get it on the box, and takes a man on creating havoc and making space all over the place from one step over. Dembele in the box though will * them up.

 

Just be brave. If we go down at least go down fighting.
