All the more frustrating for us and for BR, seeing the team play such good football but no investment of fresh faces to take us further.

I was unhappy that in the second half, when Sinclair came on, Tierney became a CB temporarily. Here, we gave AEK a breather, temporarily, losing valuable time. I want us to go 3-5-2 over there, with Tierney and Forrest on the sides. AEK do not defend the wings firmly- we just need numbers in the box to make crosses into chances.

We only lost one goal and that was against a very good team who always do well against Scottish opposition - as much as we need to freshen the defence, I am sure, I am not convinced a 20M centre back pairing would be ashamed of losing only one goal.

Good to read a lot of you are still confident, as I am. The one thing I'm a bit worried about is the heat, I wonder just how hot its going to be over there. But we know what we have to do, go there & score, what are AEK going to do, sit in & hit us on the break again.Their fans may not like that. I would really love to be over there for this one, its going to be a great night and I love Greece as well.

Part of me wonders if Hayes would be better than Sinclair against them, chucking crosses in. I could be wrong, but could be a move to go with if we need a goal with 20 minutes to go.

Leaving stadium last night We sit sect 138 ,Above us someone had hung a LAWWELL OUT banner over the edge ,Surely a bit OTT,Like most supporters i,m frustrated and annoyed the team is,nt ready to go ,imo we should have all our business done before these important CL games , Anyone remember back to Steven Fletcher days ? Club had a lead in titlr race would,nt buy SF and ended up losing title to oldco ,Hopefully the lack of investment so far wont have a lasting effect

Ajer out second leg, Hendry and Lustig our CB pairing?

We're going out boys and it's this penny pinching boards fault yet again failing to strengthen from a position of strength.

Well do it next week. 1-0. McGregor was frightening the first half an excellent player. Big Eddie was off form and once they went down to 10 it was all back defending. I was happy enough with our passing and possession. Just nobody to convert crosses. 2/3 it flashed by. The one at the end that went past Sinclair, aaaqhhh. COYBIG.

The only plus i can take from this game is only Tierney. Brown ,Ntcham and mcgregor turned up and we still vastly ouplayed them.

    Lustig: his legs are gone
Hendry: a league cup backup player at best, genuinly played with amatuers who have turned up still pished from the night before and still have a better touch than him.
Gordon: why even bother trying to play from the back only for one of our defender to be closed down for Gordon just to punt it straight to an opposing player ?
Sinclair: maybe hitting the byline once a game worked when you first came but now you are to predictable.

why are we so afraid to hit a shot from outside the box? why do we have to try walk the ball into the net everytime , to just overplay it?

Especially when Sinclair didnt fancy taking the ball past the right back 1v1.

Never once did he go down the outside and played into the defenders hands by cutting inside.

The away goal they got might actually be a blessing in disguise ,we have got to go win this game now hopefully we won't see the side to side bollocks in the last away game .we play far better in a must win situation

Where are you getting this “lack of technical players” from? AEK had about three free kicks and blazed every one of them over the bar.

We held onto the ball for far more prolonged periods than anything they achieved.
At a push id say their left back or left mid looked dangerous on the ball but other than that none of them were a touch on Mcgregor or Ntcham.

I thought the difference last night when compared to Rosenborg at home was that Edouard was never really in the game and that we didnt get Forrest on the ball and running at their full back often enough.

He did it once, but it ended in a corner. Just once, sadly.
