Can’t saying I’m not disappointed..

And admit to being wrong about applying fan logic to the modern game..

Lost the game and the player, hopefully we can bring in a quality players in the remaining window, but it’s hard to put a price on what a player like McGinn could have offered..

 

I don't blame Celtic or McGinn. I don't think he was worth any more to us than what we offered. Hard not to feel like we've missed out but I think that just comes from pure greed. There are other priorities that we should be spending more cash on.

It's all could and could've mate, we hold no loyalty to McGinn and theres no guarantee the clubs come to an agreement.

If nothing happens this window, Kouassi could have a great 6 months and McGinn may be forgotten about. Those 6 months could result in poor form or injury for him as well, it would be madness to turn down a good opportunity at Villa.

I'm sure he will have an eye on what our play will be, but inn reality he could even go down there and be bowled over. Good chat from the manger, club, big wages. Decent move.

Armstrong left a month ago, we needed a more dynamic midfielder to replace him, - if we were waiting to get McGinn on a Bosman in Jan, - what about in the meantime?

 

In your opinion mate, more likely os that we’ve * them off that much a transfer wouldn’t be accepted from us as it was in the Fletcher situation.

Then McGinn will be left in a situation where he’s knocked back an absolute life changing move, relying on a club who clearly don’t really want him all that much coming back in for him in 6 months time. He’d be stupid to not take the better money while it’s on offer because there are absolutely no guarentees in football or life in general tbh.

 

Disappointed if he moves down south. Really think we have missed out on someone that can take over from Brown.

 

You would be mental not to take the move. It isn’t just about being a Tim, one club clearly appears very eager for you to sign, the other not so much. He would be relying on us following up with our interest either in a few weeks time or in January when we really haven’t demonstrated much commitment to getting this one over the line, at least from what I’ve seen.

Plus it’s genuinely life changing money for him and his family. Promotion next year and you can bet those wages will be bumped up again. I doubt McGinn is on an exuberant wave just now, so it’s not like an ultra rich footballer ruthlessly seeking a bit more.

But gutted to be missing out on him for £2.1m in all honesty. He would obviously have been a bit of a gamble but you would have to believe that at least domestically he could do an immediate job for us.

 

Isn't Villa in need of cutting costs in the region of £30m to meet next seasons FFP regulations?

Petrie desperate to sell McGinnis to anyone other than Celtic Villa offering 200k more than Celtic,down to the player to decide where he wants to be will be paid more at Villa but might not get out of that division with them and don't see Villa getting into Europe
