Alexander Frei would be a great signing, end of. He's not injury prone as some of you think, he's a strong presence in the box and his goal scoring record speaks for itself.

Would be an absolute quailty signing.
He has about 4/5 injurys in his career that i remember and 1 really bad just over a year ago.
1st time most have seen him was in the opening qualifer and think he will be injury prone because he got a nasty injury on him.

He's Swiss so he'll be fluent in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Not sure about Glaswegian though.

he may not used to have been an injury prone player but he looks to be running out of time to prove he's not becoming one.
becoming injury prone can happen late in carear.
not sure iwant a player who's just back to fit and is injured for six weeks...
for a start strachan would be slaughterd for signing an injured 29 year old - if he continued to be injury prone.

also - he's not really the kind of guy we're looking for.. we need pace with perhalps a bit of height, imo.

Where does Spanish factor into to being Swiss? They speak french, german, and italian. It's a good bet he probably speaks english as well. I doubt spanish though.

I personally would prefer dica. he'd be cheaper, 5million euro's. he's a year younger (approx) he's not injured and has a good scoring record in europe dispite playing for Steaua Bucurest

although there are 4 official languages in my country, hardly anyone speaks all of them.

Frei was born in Basel, therefore speaks swiss(german), used to play for Servette and Rennes and speaks french as well. I really doubt he can speak italian or spanish (which ain't an official language btw).

I was only highlighting the fact that there are many languages spoken in Switzerland. Apologies if I have offended anyone with my ignorance.

Not scene enouh of him but if he can stay injury free and is as good as Stephan Chapuisat then he would do for me.

that can be said about any player. Frei isn't injury prone, he was just unfortunate to get a knock in that part of the leg when his foot was planted and he had his weight on that leg.

isnt Frei similar to Mcdonald, in a sense hes a goal poacher and a predator in the 6 yard box? im guessin scott will play 90% of games next season, we need a different type, maybe someone who can drop off, has a lot of pace and is creative, like mcGeady but through the centre...

I dont think so. Because he jarred his left knee in a tackle just at the time that we can make a move for him doesnt mean that his constantly injured or struggling for fitness.

I'm sure someone has already pointed out the amount of injuries in his career and there hasnt been many of note
