ive always been curious, and jelous, of what wages the 1st team are getting.

    anyone know?
all i 'know' is that gravesen is on '£40k' and bobo about '£25k'

is there any truth in this? what about naka? mcmanus? mcgeady? etc etc

and why dont players get jelous that certain team mates are getting more for doing less?

thats kinda my point. id get * off if i was on 'only £7k' for banging in 31 goals whereas bobo and tommy g were basically taking the *!

id play for celtic for nothing! heck, id play in the spl for any team for 500 quid a month, BUT when others get more, id get hacked off!

any idea where i can see what theyre all on?(wage wise that is)

Including sponsorship etc. apparently Naka's on 3mil a year. I've heard big Jan gets a huge paypacket. I'd expect Sammy to get a large one too

I've heard that Jan is on about 25K a week.Balde gets 28K basic and a 4K appearance fee.McDonald atm gets 7k with a 2k appearance fee but that will soon change apparently.Brown was widely reported to be on 25K a week. When Mick signed a new contract it was reported that he was going to get 18K a week.
This is just a mixture of newspaper reports and things I have been told so it might be a load of *!

Another thing that you have to take into account is that the wages at Celtic are heavily structured.Players have a relatively low basic rage which can be boosted when they or the club are successfull.I'm talking appearance fees, goal bonuses, win bonuses, league wins and CL progression etc.Gravesen is widely reported to be on 40K but I think he'll have only recieved that a few times during his time at Celtic. His basic wage is probably about 32K and that is what he recieved most weeks.

I'm a fan of this wage structure because it is benefical for the players when they are successful and it hits them in the pocket when they are not.

Was reading Van Hooijdonks Wiki heres a bit about playing for celtic

Three years in green and white

When Van Hooijdonk arrived at Celtic they had not won any trophies in six years. However with Van Hooijdonk Celtic won the Scottish Cup right away and Van Hooijdonk was the only goalscorer in the final. Van Hooijdonk was popular among the fans, but had an argument with the club's president. As a result he ended up at the substitute bench and did not play that much. The manager of the Dutch national team in these days Guus Hiddink told him he would not be selected for the national team as long as he was no regular first team player at Celtic. In total he scored 57 goals for the club in 68 appearances. He left Celtic over a wage dispute towards the end of the 1996/1997 season, stating that the reputed £7,000 a week he was being offered might be "good enough for the homeless" to live on "but not for an international striker."He went on to join Nottingham Forest.

Also did he score that many goals :88:

the first post on this is a good and sore one i feel , think youre saying that players must get jealous of otheres due to the wages they command ,a lot of that is done to agents nowadays ,basically theve wasted the game in a way ,by there antics ,everything is money money way them ,its a sad state of affairs when a manager cant talk to a player if hes felling unhappy at a club without an agent been present, its a good post mate and its hard to give you a real good answer, personally i feel if im not wrong, its a team game ,you win together and lose together, in the older days players were paid the same ,and i dont see why that should have changed ,how can a player get paid say 100,000grand a week say a midfielder ,and his side kick gets 20,000grand a week for doing th same job , were there is a big problem, imo is that loyality to a club doesnt pay, if a player is at say celtic ,example ,a while back jackie mcnamara ,i not sure but i think his basic was 8,000a week and it got upped when oneil arrived to 15,000 i think , any new player that MONsigned were demanding 20-30.000 grand a week and getting it ,jackie had been there years and personally speaking i would be thinking thats pish, i think the wage structure should be frozen ,maybe along the lines of the bigger the club the wage is better , if you played for lets falkirk ,you earn 5,000 a week you play at celtic ,top club you earn 25,000 ,and a step up in that could be a top club in europe ,which the now is man u, say 75,000 a week ,this is only what i think ,it will never happen ,but the team thing i feel is correct ,a lot of big names are in debt cos of this ,and its not due entirely to the rransfer money , they buy a player at 20million ,and his wages over 3 years are 10 million its no right and fair to guys that could be playing faithfully all there years at one club, there the ones who should be rewarded for loyality
