£1.5m/2m + Allan would be my offer to them, maybe Christie on loan also. Wouldn’t be paying more than £2m for him.

Think how much he must * off the opposition if he’s been whacked more than Tierney and Broony this season.

Think he’d be a very good signing and if we don’t get him now we’ll regret it as he’ll be snapped up by an English side and do well down there.

Wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter right away but I could see him breaking in eventually.

That'd be my limit for him.

Got mates saying we should offer 2.5mill and loan him BACK for the season. Seemingly can't see the flawed logic in the fact that we would literally be just giving Hibs 2.5million for nothing.

It would give us a 4-3-3 option now and again too, when the finesse of McGregor or Rogic isn't working... wouldn't get out-muscled much with Brown, Ntcham and McGinn as the three..

Aye that's fair enough. Would have more protection around him in Ntcham or Broony as well than McGeouch or Allan..

2m plus Allan would be a good deal. They like Allan and he has no place in our team I think they will take a deal like 2.5 plus him for McGinn which I would still be happy with.

Could be talking * here and probably will be proven to be in the future, but I think if he does go to England and do well that wouldn't necessarily happen if he came here as he might struggle getting in the team and stagnate and not become the same player from playing down there every week.

Don't think the guys who don't want him (myself included) think he's * or a bad signing. He'll do a job for us no doubt.

We're just disappointed as the club has really stepped up a level since Brendan came in. 'We aspire to be world class in everything we do' in the words of Lawell.

6/6 trophies tells us we're already good enough to dominate domestically. I was hoping for another gem in the Ntcham mold who has the potential to be world class. McGinn could well go on to be a good player for us, but I think his ceiling is much lower.

That said, I trust Brendan's judgement. Different kind of players, but if he can improve McGinn as much as he has McGregor (a guy some didn't fancy as a squad player not long ago, now undroppable), we're laughing...

Celtic transfer news: Rodgers to push for double bid before Champions League deadline
CELTIC will push ahead with a double bid for Harry Wilson and John McGinn ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League deadline.

Brendan Rodgers is keen on the pair and is hoping the Hoops can deliver both before the signing deadline, ahead of the first qualifying round first-leg against Alashkert in Armenia on Tuesday.

The Hoops have already had an opening £1.5million bid turned down but will go back in with an increased offer, although Hibs value McGinn, who is in the last year of his contract, significantly higher.

Celtic can still sign one wild card and play him after the deadline, but Rodgers is keen to strengthen his squad sooner rather than later, especially with Everton pushing ahead with a £25m bid for Kieran Tierney.

Rodgers also wants to bring winger Wilson in on loan from Liverpool.

The Celtic manager, who refused to be drawn on specific targets, said: “There is a lot of speculation around players but I’ll only talk when they are signed and done. The club are trying to do that.” Welsh international Wilson is in talks over a new Anfield deal and once he signs that Liverpool will loan him out again.

The 21-year-old had a successful loan spell at Hull City last season and is wanted by the Tigers and Norwich City but the chance to work with Rodgers again could sway the deal in their favour. Moses Adubajo has gone on trial with former club Brentford.

The right-back held brief talks with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers at the start of this tour.

I am not completely against signing John McGinn. I just don’t want Celtic to pay any serious money for him when he can sign a pre-contract in January.

The players signed this summer should be of the quality to take us to the next level in Europe. McGinn’s not going to do that at this stage in my opinion.

If he wants to come to Celtic then I think he should be told to sit tight until January when he can sign a pre-contract. And in this day and age, there are ways to get that message across without it being deemed as tapping-up.

We are not going to sign players to take us to the next level in Europe such as MON did established players the landscape has changed in football, As finished articles cost too much it will be young development players and McGinn fits the bill that Rodgers can work with even shelling out 4.5m on Ntcham and 9m on Edouard a fairly decent outlay for us but potential again.

Mcginn already has lots to offer us, with training with better players and Rogers working his magic I think he'll end up a very good buy if he comes.

Think this will be a very good signing imo , look back when our captain signed a lot of people were jumping on the band wagon saying he wasn’t good enough , mcGinn is not at browns level yet but the possibilities with the Bhoy are limitless Iam totally behind it happening

My father in law has be an around Celtic all his * life in some capacity, supporting them and Scotland home and away all through the 70s,80s and 90s, personal friends with a few ex players etc etc now that doesn't make him chief scout i know but I value his opinions on players and managers and all things Celtic. He has been telling me all last season that we should be signing McGinn before another team gets him. Thinks he could be a really big player for us. I am going to go with that as I haven't really watched him.

    Bring him home Brendan!
