Well it was a tactic that worked for Hearts, didn't quite work so well the second game but it's amazing how differently the ball bounces and bobbles on a dry pitch.

Dunno if we should be saying they're out to get us though cause they can easily say it was an oversight that affects both teams.

I'm sure if we reach 9 we'll see some sinister * happening. I'm not being para, there are too many folk who do not want us to reach 10. We already get kicked much more than other teams do without any bookings. Naismith should've got two red cards. Most games will probably be like that in the 10th season if it happens.

Bit of a joke that there aren’t rules about that sort of thing, then again it’s the SFA.

SB on summer holidays: "It was a good four weeks off. It was quick but is probably what everyone needs, especially after last season."

SB on #CelticFC record signing @Oedouard22: "He’s a great lad in the dressing room and he’s showed his qualities on the park. He always did it on the big stage as well."

SB: "It’s great that he wants to be here after last season and I’m delighted that he came back in today. It shows our intent."

SB on tomorrow's #UCL draw: "The main thing is the squad sticks together and works hard in pre-season before that first qualifier."

SB: "We’ve done well the last two seasons to get into it. Our aim at this moment is to win every game going into the qualifiers."

SCOTT Brown highlighted the importance of the summer break for Celtic and said that the training he and his team-mates have done during their time off will ensure they are up to speed for the crucial upcoming UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

The Hoops returned to training today (Monday) at Lennoxtown four weeks after the Scottish Cup final win which secured the historic Double Treble. That success came at the end of a long and gruelling season which saw Brendan Rodgers side play 61 competitive games across all competitions.

Speaking today, the Celtic captain said that the period of rest was much-needed after another dominant campaign but he insisted that ongoing training during the break would give the team a head start now that the team has re-assembled for pre-season.

“It was a good four weeks off,” Scott Brown said. “It was quick but is probably what everyone needed, especially after last season and international games going on so late. During the break I kept myself ticking over with the programmes telling us what to do and how to keep going throughout the time off so that we don’t fall behind in fitness.

“For me, those changes have just been implemented this year because usually I’m away on international duty. Having four weeks off has been good for everyone, though. Wey’ve been able to rest and go and do our own thing.”

And Brown is confident that the Scottish Champions will be in the best possible position to navigate their way through the four qualifying rounds required to reach the group stages of this season's Champions League.

“We’ve done well the last two years to get into it," he said. "The season before last we did really well in the group stages and last season we managed to get out of the group stage and into the last 32 of the Europa League. Our aim at this moment is to win every game going into the qualifiers.”

The draw for the first round takes place tomorrow (June 19) at 11am (Celtic Park time) but Brown said that the Bhoys will be too engrossed in training to watch it.

“We haven’t looked at any potential opponents," he said. "When it comes out we’ll be training so I’m sure we’ll get the nod and someone will come out and tell us.

“They’re making it harder and harder every year but we’ve got to keep doing it. We are where we are so we need to make sure we try and get into the Champions League. The main thing is the squad sticks together and work hard in pre-season before that first qualifier.”

Anyone else noticed how much he looks like David Platt? Just watching the english pundits wanking themselves into a frenzy and they showed his goal against Belguim years ago.

Diouf,Barton,Alves etc he's seen them all off one of the most decorated Celtic players an infectious character on the squad he's like Gattusso was for Milan not the greatest technically but a player you need always in your team, and since Brendan has got a hold of him especially the last 2 seasons playing arguably his best stuff.
