One thing we should look to do is expand the standing section. I think there is big demand for that.

Should expand capacity of stadium to approx 70,000 (level around whole stadium) and increase the standing section at same time, maybe to the whole of that side of the stadium.
Whilst doing this, sort out the restricted view in the away sections.
Doing this will enhance the experience om European nights especially since Celtic supporters get moved by UEFA to the away section and this would give those supporters unrestricted views.
The money Celtic would make just for hosting a Champions League final or Europa League final would probably help quite a bit towards the cost and within a few seasons maybe it would pay for itself for the cost of the development.

I like the sounds of the lighting system along the lines of Allianz.

I would still like to see the Main stand connected in some way, mostly the roofing.

For sure would like to see that section expanded behind the goal.

Yeah behind the goal was my thinking. GB can pick their spot. Might not want to move mind you.

Bragging rights on a capacity issue is extremely short sighted

The notion that "their stadium can hold x amount" is a fallacy, comparable to a big car with a little * driver

I for one think were moving in the right direction, using the amazing stadium we have to build a matchday experience unrivaled on these isles

That being said i would love to see the stadium rounded off with a level top tier, and rid of those fckin pipes which everytime I go look more and more rusted and redundant

Increase the safe standing to the full of 109, 112 & 113.
Could probably do the full Lisbon Lions lower now the Huns have spat the dummy out.

Still won't be 5 star compliant despite these changes? To get a five star requirement i think it's no restricted viewing + some sort of tunnel for buses to go down under the stadium, or something like that. We won't be hosting any euro finals until this has been changed.

Dont think we could have a 5* stadium without a complete rebuild, could be wrong. Think the restricted views could and will be sorted in the next few years, but i just dont see how we could build a tunnel type thing into the stadium. Also think the changing rooms would need to be made bigger etc.

Btw does anyone know if this fix up of the stadium coming up includes getting they * scaffold poles painted? Thats one of the main things for me, bit of white paint and itd look fantastic, works at Old trafford.

I think What we are doing with the stadium right now could be considered primary steps to expansion. Make the match day a even better experience, hopefully average attendance spikes, hopefully we will see a greater call for expansions. All if and buts, granted. Think we would all like to see expansion but as stated previously, there would be no point unless we see Celtic park packed more regularly. We would 70/80k without a sweat on European night's. Getting that kind of attendance against Motherwell is always going to be more tricky

So, to host the Champions League Final there shouldn’t be restricted views...

I think it was stated a while back expanding the stadium would cost in region of 40 Million

Don't think there's any need for it either. We sell out for champions league games and maybe half a dozen league games a season. Think 60 thousand is about right

We're in a strange place. £30 million could be spent on players and Brendan would surely build a team that would compete for the last 16 at least but...

The problem is Lawwell has just said the UCL contract runs out in 2014 and all the elite * rich * want a break away league that wouldn't allow countries like us to get a spot.

He seemed to imply the new Europa format which can change in 2021 I think is the one we should be focusing on. He's a member of Eufa too, he better get us a qualifying spot in that break away league. Every player in Europe wants to experience Parkhead on a UCL night.

It would be absolutely disgraceful if the rich teams created a closed league just because it would attract big money. I wouldn't watch it. So that £100 will probably change their mind.
