football is all about money these days and i think you will be giving a rats * if we sign players on the cheap who turn out * and the huns invest heavy on quality for theirs. thats my 2 cents

it all depends how far we want to take i just hope we dont get heavily outspent in the summer, or as i said before we could be asking for trouble.

 

players are expensive for a reason. The majority of the time you need to spend that extra amount to get a quality player

estimations are wrong. we didn't make £15m. the huns made more than you said. they could make that with their gate receipts each round alone. and you haven't given them money for coming 2nd in spl which isn't too much behin 1st

 

No we did not get 15mil for 1 game in the last 16. And also you forgot at gate receipts. Each game we prob make about 1.5mil or so. Rangers have a smaller stadium so thats like 250k less than us per game.

Also if you compare our income for 2004 and 2007 you will see that we made more money in 2007 when we got to last 16 of Champions League than in our UEFA Cup run.
Income

I expect in terms of prize money from Champions League, it will be around 20-25mil including tv, prize money and gate reciepts. Prize money is not very high, the bulk is from tv revenue.

 

I dont think we have to spend fortunes as theres plenty of examples of the higher the price the bigger the disappointment as you dont always get what u pay for . I believe a few players of decent quality would see us through

 

When i started this poll i just wondered who we all thought would spend the most, i didnt necessarily mean that it was right to spend more. Of course we would rather get a quality player for say free than say pay 5 million plus for a dud, i dont think anyone here would disagree with that. My personal thoughts are that i hope to at least match rangers in the transfer market as it sends out a message and most of the time it will sign you the better player.
