Maybe not up your street but you could do retail/store management then apply for Management jobs at Lidl and the such, paying upwards of £32k. Just trying to think outside the box.

    I'm not picky.
Possibly but I guess it all depends on how long you're driving for (and in the UK you're never driving for more than a few hours at a time really).

In the UK you have to take a 45 min break within the 1st 4 and a half hours of duty/driving and that can be split into a 15 and 30 or take all 45 minutes at the same time. During your breaks, unloading, loading etc you can get out and walk around, move about just to help your back and legs and such. It tends to be my legs that get a bit stiff more than my back.

Here in the US you have to take at least a 30 minute break within your 1st 8 hours of duty (duty is anything from driving to waiting at a receivers/shippers). The longest I've driven for at any one time before having to get out the cab is just under 5 hours, and you can get a bit stiff then :giggle1: Like I say though, with the breaks, the times at the shippers/receivers etc there are opportunities to get out and walk around.

Only you know you're back obviously but if you really want to at least get your HGV licence and can afford it then I'd go for it cos it would be handy to at least have the licence if you do decide to get a driving job. With the driving you don't even have to look at distance. You could look at local areas or even just maybe running Scotland. There are options and having the licence obviously opens the door for those options.
