What would make this season great?

winning the league.

People seem to forget over 90 minutes in a one off game anything can happen. Look at the FA cup for instance, lesser teams raise their game for a big, one off game. The fact folk think we'e entitled to win everything is madness.

If we win the league plus a cup this year i'd be more than happy.

 

Treble is a great season, and so is knocking out Zenit.

To be still be playing European football in March would be fantastic.

 

Retaining the treble would be a fantastic achievement. Getting past Zenit over two legs in addition to that would be incredible, but right now I don't expect that to happen.

Best Since 67 - Quadruple.

Suppose the last two options could also come under as Best Since 67, but obviously a quadruple, wow.

 

I'll be happy with the league and league cup double, very happy with the treble and delighted if we get the treble and progress beyond Zenit.

 

A treble is a great achievement....good is nowhere close to describing it!! Last Saturday could easily happen in an away cup tie!!! Also, we're the main scalp everyone of them wants!!

So a treble would be a great season! Progress in Europe would be an added bonus. I've not written us off yet but it would be a pleasant surprise.

 

if im honest I would celebrate beating zenit more than winning the scottish cup. and winning back to back domestic trebles would feel a wee bit hollow if we got gubbed by zenit as it wouldn't say much about the quality of our team. dominating/ winning domestically but getting papped out of europe is hun behaviour imo (refer to rangers mid 90s )

What would make this season great again?

Excuse my ignorance, but aren't we still in European football after Christmas, top of our domestic league, still in Scottish Cup competition, and have already won the League Cup?

Am I missing something?

 

I understand your point, the season on paper looks great, but a lot of our performances have been very sub par. Great we are still winning, but I want to enjoy the wins!

It's like having a manager mode on FIFA and simulating all the games!

 

A treble is all we need.

 

This season would have been a good one if it were to finish today - but not a great season for most people.

I am asking what would make it a great season for you. It is not a negative thread.

I understand SOME of the performances haven't been as majestic than last year, but come on to * man

 

I think my point was self-explanatory mate. i'm in no way trying to degrade the purpose of your thread, but I think some perspective is needed here.

We are a club that's in it to win things, and our remit is CL qualification.

We've already (even if some want to say SLIGHTLY) bettered our record in the CL from last season, and have European fitba after Christmas.

Like I say, we've already won the league cup, still pretty much running away with the league, still going after the Scottish Cup, and have tie against Zenit to look forward to.

What's not "great" about that?

 

I know it's ridiculous. Ofcourse I enjoy winning, but we aren't them. I like to win well, I like to watch the team playing well together. I just feel I haven't seen us click that often this season! But this is down to squad inconsistincy with relation to injuries, etc.

 

Build a wall around Parkhead and keep all the huns out, and the council will pay for it!
