There absolutely needs to be a level of quality, but we also must to continue to bring in the best prospects from home and abroad. 18months loan deals are a satisfactory length of contract and are one of the ways to get that level of quality into the club, in a deal that benefits all.

However we can’t have too many loan deals, this would be a poor business model. We need to buy, develop and sell some players for profit too.

We also need to develop our own youth, the likes of Christie must be wondering about his Celtic future tonight.

To get the quality of Musonda or Roberts we need to try and scout them young because by the time they get to 20 they are out of our price range. This is a hard truth, one that some fail to grasp, as even if we agree a fee with a club we have to convince them to come and play the majority of their football in the SPFL.

With Paddy, Edouard & Musonda all on loan deals, I personally think that’s enough to be in and around the first team and if that means the quality of permanent signings isn’t as good on paper, I’m realistic enough to accept that.

We can definitely still bring in the next VVD but players like him are difficult to find.

We need a blend of signings and I’m pretty pleased overall with the quality BR is trying to add. Remember he’s only a season and half into his project here and we’re unrecognisable as a Club to the one he joined.

I ain’t no sleuth but even I know there isn’t any personal terms in a loan deal! It’s a transfer of contract sure celtic would probably pay him a bonus based on a few things for the team plus I didn’t see any security team arriving with him it was his maw and da unless they are a pair eh hardy *!
