This has come from nowhere, shocking news.

I've never chastised him for leaving Celtic and going where the riches are. He wasn't the first and definitely won't be the last.

Guys like VVD and Wanyama essentially did the same thing yet are still highly thought of by most supporters.

Hope he can pull through.

Pancreatic cancer is dangerous in that by the time it becomes symptomatic it's often in it's latter stages. I hope that's not the case.

Absolutely tragic what he's going through. 36 is absolutely no age at all. Wish he'd stayed with us for an extra season, him and Bellamy in the same team would have been pretty epic to see.

In some ways reminds us all that life is never guaranteed and ensuring his family were financially looked after is what all of us do. The difference in football is that we all support a particular team, and feel that sometimes players are "deserting us" whereas in reality they are just going the same as the rest of us if we move jobs.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but in the long run his decision was probably the wrong one on a purely financial basis.

It's strange, you spend over a decade disliking the man for essentially betraying our club, then in one article it all doesn't seem to matter anymore. He isn't Liam Miller former Celtic player anymore. He is Liam Miller, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle whatever.

Sorry pal, should have clarified it better. I meant at a time like this what happened between him and the club is irrelevant.

 

I wasn't trying to bring it up as a negative. Just that when something like this happens you realise there is a bigger picture. Maybe sometimes I'm guilty of being too critical of people, Liam included. It's just something I thought about. No matter how someone seems on the outside you never really know whats going on under the surface or away from the spotlight, in Liam's case.

 

Absolutely despise the *, well....in fitba terms anyway.

Although my heart goes out to him and his family, hope he manages to find a miracle and comes through this terrible affliction.
