He's left footed, he takes corners, free kicks and pens with his left.

o well thats not really the issue here neways...its if he can be a good left back for us i like the prospect of that..like many u previously posted id like to see him get a run of games in that position... good at gettin forward and gettin stuck in

hes a good player and did aright for us the day. but i doubt whether he knows all the tricks of the trade at left back. maybe a few more games before we judgement

Don't really think he is a long term solution TBH.

His crossing really wasn't that good today, ok better than Naylor - but that's not really praise.

His positioning & tracking was obviously pretty poor as it's a position he hasn't really played that often - he got away with it today as it was Hamilton.

We really need a proper LB in January.

People think him and Hartley are the same sort of age but Robson is a couple of years younger. So he should be at his peak for at least a couple more seasons.

funny I was just thinking that switching a tallish left footed combatiive ginger midfielder signed from a Dundee club to left back to solve a problem there is similar to what Rangers did with 'bomber' brown (much loved by tims!!) in the late 80s although I think he ended up a CB if I remember right.

i still feel that if robson was comfortable we would still need the replacement in the transfer window as i would find this is a position just to be filled in for the moment

    No I'm afraid not.
    He is a midfielder.
I know he could do a job there but we need a natural LB.

I'd play him at left back as Naylor just gets shown up at any kind of decent level, plus we have decent cover in midfield with Crosas coming through

He's a player, but lets not forget it was "only" Hamilton we played today.
I for one would like to see him at LB but i still hold the opinion that he is too good for that pos. I reckon we want him either LW or CM. Du Du Du Barry Robson.

id play im any where on the field for his aggresive (but fair) attitude. he actually started his career as a left back so fits the role fine :50:

I've got a lot of time for Barry Robson, he could never live up to his debut - scoring the free kick.. no player could. But he does inject an energy into the team when he is on the pitch, in whatever position. He will roam. But he will also get carded. But so will Broon but in the right game I believe Robson is a must for us. We rely on aggressive players in the middle of the park to break up opposition play and to start attacks. Robson definitely fits that mould.

Glad to see Naka scoring today and like (I think) McNaka like me is a Crosas fan already, he shows a calmness in his play that we really need. He can read the game like no other.

Robson is our best option as a LB currently. He must play as an attacking wing back, together with Nakamura/Maloney in the midfield, to force C.Ronaldo to help in defense, and not just to attack us. We have to go offensively, we have nothing to lose.

Not much point in playing him there when we are dominating games, its when we are up against it we need him bit of blood and guts sort out these flash *.
Joking aside we will have to play him there in some tough games to find out if its going to work.

Aye was at the game today and I felt he played good at left back I think the more he plays in that position he will only get better at it.

Aye he played well at LB, a bit suspect with his crosses in the first half. But overall certainly better than the LB's we have been subjected to recently
