Delighted with the strikers, delighted with the midfield. The defence is good enough for the league but will be shown up in Europe. Very disappointed we didn't add a CB, more so given the injuries at present.

It's absolutely ridiculous we haven't signed a cb. Is Boyata or Sviatchenko back for the PSG game?

Agree with this, I actually think if we got a cb it would have been an excellent window but we have a lot of strength in depth going forward, just hope we can do soon defensively in europe

Disappointed we couldn't get a CB in as I really think we're a quality CB away from being a top quality team, very happy with our attacking and midfield options we have great strength in depth in those areas but our defence is still shaky and if we had got a defender in i would have been reasonably confident we could definitely make an impact in europe this season, let's just hope Boyata recovers quickly and when he does that he can continue the form he showed in the second part of last season.

Pretty surprised at the CB thing TBH. I would have been happy with a loan. Boyata won't be ready for PSG and that is frankly scary.

No, it's true that a decent CB wouldn't mean we could keep that lot out. I expected us to lose the first game; but I expected to give a decent account of ourselves, maybe a 3-2 loss or something. If we are playing Bitton or Ajer in defence, I fear for a real hiding. That will kill a lot of the good feeling that has been built up.

Overall I was extremely happy with the window: Ntcham, Paddy back, promising replacement for Dembele when he goes, lot of dead wood cleared out, decent squad player in Hayes...
Seems weird to spoil a great window with an oversight like this.

Let's all start praying for a miraculously quick recovery for big Boyata.

Yeah, slightly disappointed that we never added a defender, but delighted and excited with the additions. More importantly I'm glad that the window is now shut and that none of our star players have went at the last minute....it would have been much worse IMO, if we would have lost a Tierney,Jozo,Dembele or Griffiths.
We have retained the core squad from last season and added quality in midfield and upfront.

Brendan stated a while ago we would look to do business at the end of the window.

We were on the verge of signing CB which fell through.

Up until the final few days brendan was clearly stating he expected a couple in.

Going by all this Brendan obviously wanted another addition and for a club our size fresh from qualification not to manage to bring in a much needed CB is pathetic. Borderline incompetent. Added to that every addition we have made, they are all relative kids in the game, barring Hayes, some might say they are 'projects'. The same for our failed attempt at getting a CB, a 20 y/o unknown punt which left us scrabbling around for a loan by all accounts.

The loonies were out Jeannie, out in force.

They should all have returned to normal today, full moon away.

    Very poor overall I think.

If celtic arent going to win the champions league then surely the value of being there is to make money that can be invested in the squad to make us better for the next season. I dont see how we have done this. A couple of loanee will help but wont progress or grow the club. And a £5m or so outlay after creaming in £35m or so a year from the champions league feels unacceptable.

Of course, even if we had spent £35m we still wouldnt be favourites to qualify but why not spend even a third of that to try and build on what we achieved last season.

As I said earlier we will inevitable wait until we fail to scrape into the groups on the cheap, or until we lose the like of Dembele and Tierney before we spend. And we will end up spending just to take us back to where we are now.

Although we had a great season last year it is disappointing that we are already at a ceiling the board has created.

Disappointed too - because I feel a CB was a necessity... still hoping something might have been done very late on and announced today.

Some amount of arrogance in here.

Do you think Brendan will put up with our board breaking promises or cancelling deals much longer?
BR : what happened there Peter? I had 4 players on that shortlist.
PL : Oh aye so you did. We tried Brendan. We really did. See you later.
    BR : Thanks a bunch.
PL : HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!

A CB was the priority. Very surprised and disappointed that the one weak area in the team has not been addressed.

Think celtics thinking may be that we have a squad more than good enough for the league and also a squad that is gd enough to at least get 3rd in the champions league then in january see what we are lacking and maybe make another few signings to have a go at the europa if thats where we end up.

Agree with this, what should have been a good window has left me really really disappointed. I'm fearing the worst from PSG now to be honest. We were lucky against Astana - PSG will annihilate us

Lucky? We beat them by 4 clear goals and had 3 away goals?

I know PSG are better than Astana but if we want to have a level playing g field against them we'd need to spend hundreds of millions.

It means were running a CL campaign with fewer defenders than last season.

3 recognised CDs, 2 injured, real doubts about the players who cover those positions.

We should have been able to get someone in to strengthen. It really was essential and we didn't do it.

    Big risk to take.
