Not my statement. Real radio´s hosts.

I can see the argument can you not.?

Also if you have read my comments about the OF game you will see I have nothing but praise for WGS as credit where credit is due. There was an element of luck as we scored in the final minute. However we would have been very unlucky not to take all three points as over the piece we deserved nothing less.

The bottom line is the buck stops with the manager and in the last couple of weeks he deserves to be praised.

I dont think there is any argument about that, and we dont need Ewen or Roughie,to tell us this.If Brown had been available the last two games he would have played at the expense of either Robson or Hartley.WGS has persevered with several players this season when they have been woefully off form, and ignored other options. Why would he start dropping favoured players now, when he has shown no inclination to do so previously?

This was the point it is a resoned view not a made up one as Supermike suggested.

If he re-instates Brown then it will not be explainable to me as to the reason why. As for me and it seems for most we have finaly got a balanced working midfield pairing in Hartley and Robson. Something WGS has tried to find for far to long now without real success. As was sugested by Ewen "it was probably down to luck more than design" to find this partnership. I can´t really see an argument to suggest otherwise.

Agreed,Brown would have played,no question. The last two performances have been terrific and lets hope the Huns bottle collapses, but IMO WGS's reluctance to change players, formations and tactics, have put us in the position where we are relying on favours from other teams. One good win against them doesnt alter that.

I'm just pointing out how quick people are to highlight negatives when it comes to Strachan.

i've been saying the same thing all year but seeing how well our CM is playing without him i'm thinking whether or not we need him. so far this season all he's shown he's good at is getting booked

WGS seems to have struggled with his CM selection this season (if not througout his entire tenure), he's certainly one for buying CM'ers. In this season he's had Brown, Donati & Robson - in previous season's Sno, Hartley & Graveson. In my opinion none of these permutations have really set the heather on fire.
According to many crappy rumour sources, he seems to be on the look out for spending more money on more CM'ers Hurtado being the latest. With the likelyhood that more will be on the way out, Donati back to Milan (guffaw!!) etc..
Point is that in the last 2 games, we've been scoring goals again, controlling the game more & this being against the 2 teams who sandwich us at the top of the table & therefore MUST WIN matches. Hartley & Robson certainly deserve to see how it goes for them as a partnership in the remainder of the season.
We really need a settled CM, this seems at odds with the rest of the team which pretty much picks itself. I also think it's good for the squad to see Brown be left on the bench - as it shows that team selection is on merit & not on price.

I think Brown is still suspended for today's game so I would keep the same team bar Caldwell and Naylor.

The midfield was our key to victory last Wednesday and with Shuggie roaming around in the middle of the park I think we'll get a 4-0 win today.

I'm a big fan of having a holding player in front of the back four and then coupling that type of player with one who drives forward knowing his mate has his back. There are faults with Robson and Hartley and I won't deny that but compared to any other CM pair we've had this season, they're head and shoulders higher.

I didn't see that much of Robson before he came but he really impresses me with his determination to get and keep the ball. The fact the huns are all bawling over the Dailly challenge tells me Robson got it spot on and it had the desired effect, otherwise we'd have heard nothing. He's lucky he never got carded but it shows he was willing to take a card to get the message over. The guy plays to his strengths and uses people around him, unlike Brown who too many times gets the head down and charges on, regardless of who's around him and in better positions.

Brown has talent but he lacks discipline and is too nervous looking on the ball. I think he'll get better but it won't hurt him to sit on the bench for a while and watch how the job should be done. I'm also hoping that now Lenny is here he'll spend some time with Brown and help him adjust his game to suit. He's too much a loose cannon right now and leaves us far too exposed at times as he's too easily pulled out of position.

Surprised Hartley didn't get more praise for the role he played in the huns game. I thought he was immense (apart from a couple of wobbles) and shielded the CB's from a lot that would have came at them. Highlight for me was when he tracked that Darchevile run right to the byline then took the ball off his toes...experience and class. If that was Brown I'd wager money he'd have dived in and given a penalty away.

I agree with this especially the first and last bit.:50:

We have been crying out for a holding midfield player for what seems like an age now. With the players we currently have at Celtic we need that extra protection for our backline. Also with the amount of attacking options from Midfield to front I agree a holding midfielder would help these guys to play there natural game. Maybe the penny has finally dropped with WGS and he has realised this also as Hartley is the only one capable of doing that role to a decent standard surely he will retain his place now, at least until the end of the season.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I'm worried Brown really doesn't want to play for Celtic. He could be amazing for us with a wee bit time. His touch reminds me of Larsson's sometimes. (commentator's eye)

people seem to forget we were singing donati;s praises as late as january.
he went off the boil the same time as everyone else, so we can't just blame him. in the 2nd half today he looked to be getting back on track to the way he was at the start
