    Man City clearly don't want him. They seen exactly skint either. We are bagging 40mill here getting into the group stages and on the verge of getting another 7 mill from the VVD sale.

    How in under * can we not agree of a fee to make this permanent!?

    I don't think Man City have ever had any intention of selling him. Whoever deals with their transfers wants the sack if they do.

    I'd be fuming if we sold Roberts for anywhere near £10million. He's worth £25million easy. Another year of him is a bonus.

    No I agree with that entirely. 2 and a half years of Roberts virtually free of charge is great tbh.

    I think most would love to get him in under a permanent contract and eventually sell him on for mega bucks down the line.

    Glad that he's back. Great week. Annihilation of Astana, Armstrong penned a new deal and Roberts back for another year, hopefully we negotiated a option to buy.

    Patrick Roberts WILL be back at Celtic on a season-long loan deal.

    It is understood that Manchester City, whose preference was for Roberts to go to Southampton or Nice, have acquiesced to the player's own desire to return to Celtic.

    The deal has yet to be finalised but is expected to be formally completed in the early part of next week.
    Celtic have been in communication throughout the summer with city officials and it looks like they have been successful in getting the player they have pursued this summer.
