I'm usually in the minority on this one but I prefer to play the home leg of these first.

I knew it was going to be Astana because I dreamt it on Tuesday night, had telt everyone in work and in the pub for the game on Wednesday, should have stuck a hefty wager on it man.

I'm the same. If you can do a good enough job first leg, then sometimes these second legs are rendered pointless as it's effectively already over..

I was still confident with a nil nil at home last week to take to Norway..

As long as you don't concede, you are in the driving seat. If you can score 2 or 3 as well, then it's as good as done..

I think sometimes when teams play away first and get a decent result they can be guilty of thinking the job is pretty much done. Has happened with us in the past, Maribor under Ronny sticks out.

I prefer us playing teams at home when it's all still to play for.

Put it this way any win at home, prefer to nil obviously we just need a draw there....something we have done recently at city, in Germany and Norway. Nae bother lads!!

Ps- *?? we won in Norway...you know what I meant.

Someone posted up their European record earlier and it showed that they are strong at home but very poor travellers. The same used to be said about us, but we have really improved our away form in the past few years with results at teams like Ajax, Fenerbahce, Gladbach, Man City, Rosenborg and tough journeys like Qarabag and ASTANA.

    My prediction..

We win to nil in the first leg - 2-0 - and then we hit them on the counter in the 2nd leg...we * an away goal leaving them needing 4! (Which isn't happening)

    Much Confidence.

I forgot about their plastic park, however good thing is we have played many games on the artificial surface against killie and hamilton. So we know how pish it is and how to play on it, so I'm not havin "their park is a problem" excuse.

I'm happy with this draw. We beat them last year and I think we can repeat the feat. I won't be easy, that would b churlish to assume so, however we more than have the ability to beat this team. I would have preferred the 2nd leg at home but I feel under Rodgers the team can perform in away games. Remember we took nothin to Trondheim.

Just hope we have a fit griff and decent CB pairing (not Bitton, despite him playing well in Norway).

Also, yes khazakstam is halfway round the world but did we not have some preseason training in Dubai? That's just as far away and just as hot so again I think the players should b able to cope with the flight. The heat could b a factor (dunno how hot it can get!?) so let's hope it's a cool evening KO time.

If we perform, we're through. HH

Tbh i would of been confident against any one of the possible ties. We need to do the business at CP this time tho, at least 2 goals. I * hate us playing away to teams like this, maybe just because im a nervous wreck aw the time but just the travel, pitch, climate etc gives me the fear.

Play a back 4 with Bitton or Ajer partnering Jozo or switch to a back 3?

I think we will beat them fairly easily we are better now than when we last played them. Lets hope pitch aint half frozen again.

I think playing Astana again will be a nice wee test to judge just how much we've progressed as a side in Europe since last year - and hopefully we can take care of the tie comfortably and carry that confidence into the group stages.

Without being presumptuous or complacent hopefully, we beat them before, so we will have the inside track on them.
I am quietly confident on this one.

The travel thing is a bit of a red herring for me, they are hardly flying * easy jet cattle class.

I'd play a B team against kilmarnock between the ties though.
