Aye I'm still gutted about Watt's decline. He had the physique, the pace, the energy and goals. Ideal for the 4231 set up which is so common now. Just a shame he's a *.

Anyways, * Watt. The horrible wee Scheme Goblin that he is.

Back to Jack - yeah, he held the ball up well tonight, got into great positions, got involved physically and scored the winner in a cup final against Sevco In Nappies.

Very bright future has this lad, hope he knuckles down, works hard and learns from our incredible management team at Celtic.

Should get a chance now before the season's out..

If Dembele is almost done for the season then Griff will be saved for game's before the final probably..

Probably be on the bench next week..

Aye surely he'll get a fair whack of game time now that Dembele is out.

Still a kid, should get some token game time but the treble and undefeated record will ensure he won't be starting games.

When does the tournament finish? Is he here before the end of the season?

Hopefully not; final is on May 19. Group stage runs until the 9th, but Scotland should get through it based on Euro ranking of 6th (esp after good start today). At that point, good shot of qualifying for U-17 World Cup, as 5 spots are on offer to semi finalists and playoff winner. Would be better to have him help Scotland reach that tournament than ride bench.

BR on promoting @JackAitchison7 for #UCL tie: "A 17-year-old boy who needs time to develop. An excellent young player but not his time."

BR: "I think one of my strengths is gauging when it's the right time and moment for a young player."

Not sure BR has made the right call on Jack.
Teams across Europe blood young players in Big games, look at the Ajax conveyer belt of players. Surely it has to be the right time, when we have
No fit strikers & end up playing Tam in a role he just isn't cut out to play. We where crying out for some kind of striker to make the right runs & put their defence on the back foot.
If we'd played Jack , he might not have scored himself, But IMO he would have helped open up pockets of space for guys like Sinclair & Tam to get the vital goal we needed......

I understand your frustration re him not playing Aitchison but I'll back the manager on this as he does have a reputation for being a fantastic man manager.

Should have started a couple at the end of last season.

The only negative of chasing the invincibles tag is you can become a bit too focused on the now and not the future.

It can't always be the right time to test a player on the big stage, he obviously has the talent and the likes of Tierney who was thrown in the deep end in Europe since he was the option we had and look how it worked out.

Some young players thrive when given that pressure, I think Aitchison will be one of them.

If he's good enough he's old enough.
