It was an attempt to say the fact your actually entertaining the thought we could be beat on Friday - "turn us over" - is laughable and very defeatist. Embarrassed for you that you actually fear these orange * have a chance. That's what "watching from behind the couch" means for future reference.
Have a bit of pride for * sake and quit the bedwetting.

I think i can see the point your making, they will be up for this.

As i said before we need to stay focused and get the job done the way we know we can,

Some peop, pel wont hear of anything but a thrashing to this lot and i guess thats just the way some people see it

Yeah, a lot of what @London Dub Celt is saying is spot on, we may well hammer them but there are far more factors to this game than usual. I think what baffles me most is the people who use friendly games as a yardstick, I could never follow that thinking.
A 2-0 win with no injuries or cards would be great.

Griff to start. Would be harsh to drop him, after his goalscoring run at the end of last season. Especially as Dembele was in poor form before his injury.

Yep i don,t get people saying how well preseason games have gone implying that means the same will happen this game.
We all expect us to get through to the next round (including myself). However this is a unique game giving the team, place, and time of game and don,t think we can compare this with any game we have played before.

Lets just hope we destroy them and move on without any major incidents with our fans or players.

He's also said it's 'ridiculous' to think that we can beat them by 4/5 away from home. That's where most people are taking exception. It's very far away from ridiculous to think that it is possible.

    Exactly.

It's ridiculous to think we could beat Linfield 3 or 4-0....aye, okay. I'd actually be more surprised if we only won 1-0. Fully expect us to take a few off of them.

It is possible but how many times in the Champions League era have we won away games by 4-5 goals even in the qualifiers?

Also, the players will experience an atmosphere and hostility they have never experienced before with armed Police guard being a possibility too. They will be under instruction from Celtic FC and PSNI not to antagonise the home support and, being human, at 2-0, will possibly think "job done" and ease off a bit.

When you add this to the fact that Linfield will play levels above their natural station it renders it unlikely that we will win by 4-5 goals.

If people are comparing this to what has become a run-of-the mill away fixture at Ibrox (and our 5-1 over there, for example) they are in for a shock.

You need to take out a minimum of one month's subscription but they have the International Champions Cup and the GAA coming up over the next 4 weeks.
