    Yup he is well proven in this league, hopefully Brendan is looking for players at European level and players like Hayes fill in domestically, it is going to be a long season yet again on both fronts, Hayes as pointed out is more than capable in this league, now let's go get our targets to push on in Europe.

    I do find this underwhelming given his age and price but at least his numbers are excellent this year.

    Hopefully we will rest the Sinclair, Rogic and Dembele-types pre-Europe. Might be the opportunity for guys like Hayes.

    In regards to being good enough for Europe....

    He has 7 assists and 3 goals in 17 Europa Qualifiers. That ain't too shabby. Won't want to rely on him, no, but I don't have concerns over his ability in early qualifiers.


    73 assists and 36 goals in 215 SPL games.

    If he's playing as a Back up it's a good signing definitely not what we need to scalp top European teams but I'm confident it's what I said in the first part of my post.

    See him like Forrest in many ways. Like to take their opponents on whilst running at pace and getting balls into the box. Hayes on one wing and Forrest on the other would absolutely terrorise every full back in Scotland.

    I'm not against Hayes as I'm sure Brendan knows what he is doing but 1 mill + Christie + us paying Christie to cut contract.... that's just taking the *. No way should we be getting shot of a very talented young Scottish player who I think a lot of us feel still has the potential to be a real player for us. Christie on loan for another season I'd be fine with but not punting him+cash for Hayes.
