Rodgers always speaks highly about Hayes after working with him at Reading so I'm not sure if I would rule out the chances. I agree that he is not the kind of signing that is going to get us to the knockout stages of the champions league though.

That goal he scored in the last game against us was an absolute beauty. Didn't he get goal of the season for that goal he scored against us last season as well?

He has good pace, works hard off the ball and is capable of scoring and assisting goals.

 

I'm not sure if people know, but Hayes is 30 in July, no for me.

Being thirty in July is not a deal breaker for me. You would get two or three more good years out of him, especially if he keeps himself fit. Hayes is much better than GMS.

I would have Hayes as a back up player, rated him since his ICT days.

He's not the player to remotely bring us to the next level, but he would be far better back up than GMS.

Would rather Aberdeen kept their best players though tbh, especially if the player isn't a must signing.

 

I get the impression Brendan won't be in the Johnny Hayes/Liam Boyce market.

 

Kesuke Honda will leave Milan at end of season, his wages would be a fair bit but no transfer fee. He's not the player he was but he would be a great signing. The days of the likes of Tottenham signing him are over he may get offers from lower level EPL teams but Celtic is an attractive option for most players at moment. the money made from marketing would be good we still have a small but loyal Celtic fanbase in Japan that would grow massively with a star like Honda.

Not a good fit for us. Injured since February and hardly played for a team who ended dead last in Bundesliga 2.

 

Pablo Maffeo from Manchester City. With Lustig ageing maybe a new right back would be good. He seems like a good defensive right back. He has came on off the bench a few times and impressed. He started in pre season for City a few times as well and played good. He has good instincts and reactions. Maffeo might not be the best option on the right but if we can get someone as good as Tierney on the right that would be magic

He's too wee at 5 8'. Aberdeen were targeting Tierney all the time yesterday and he is 5 10'.

 

Aye if you mean targeting by smashing * out of his face, they certainly did.

 

I've heard there is a player at Man City called Patrick Roberts. I reckon he'd be a good signing
