i think questions have to be asked about the team's fitness level.
it seems as though the team have been training far too hard.
too many of the team looked like they could barely walk let alone sprint.

    any thoughts?

theyre not training too hard, theyre stale looking.
heat played a big factor, the commentators at HT were sweating, but still no excuse for the performance

Yeah i agree Lennon couldnt move in the last ten and as for zurwaski and hartson they never moved at all so dont know how they could be tired.

They've looked stale for well over a year (or longer) - watching them huffing and puffing thru last season was murder.

Last night some of them looked like old dears struggling home with the shopping.

i know from experience that you can train too hard.
GS has been around the world studying other sports teams training methods. he went on about how hard the aussie rules player's train and how fit they are. i think he's put them through too much too soon.
as for the heat, i've plyed in extreme heat in canada during the day and we came up against teams of our level from countries with a far warmer climate and we dealt with teams of our level.
celtic should've been able to deal with a team of a far far lower standard.

I think celtic should employ some rugby fitness coaches as they will soon get the team back into shape with in a couple of months.

I think it's funny you mention this conorbhoy.

Zurawski said in one of his interviews for a polish newspaper (right after the transfer) that he has never trained so hard in his life and at the end of the training all he thinks about is going to bed. He and Boruc said that they usually train at full speed for several hours a day and then go swimming. They are usually so tired that they can't think straight and start talking about "strange things":97:
Of course nobody took them seriously in Poland thinking this is the way you train at Celtic and they are just overreacting. It turns out, however, that they could have been rigth and GS just killed them with his harsh trainign methods. That would explain the shocking result in Slovakia.

Could be over-training. Could be the fact that we're pure pish.

Team looked really shattered from the very beginning though.

They had a long enough recovery spell, it's
    an attitude problem, underestimated the
    opposition to our embarassment.

the team looked like they couldn't move from the first pre-season match right up to the final whistle last night. i don't think it was to do with attitude, when you are so wrecked there's nothing you can do about it no matter how much you want to, your body just won't allow it.

    Conor,

I don't buy this argument about tiredness but it's
all about opinons. Motivation and getting the
adrenalin flowing again in these important matches
is essential. Where's the passion and fighting spirit
gone? It's been lacking since last year against Shaktar,
and continued on through the loss of the league until
last nights disaster. A lot of those bhoys need a good
    kick up the *.

    brig,
i know myself that from training too hard the body can only take so much.
last night was the most wrecked i've ever seen from a side at any stage of any season.
i really think he's worked them too hard with no time to recover.

Well their gonna really be knackered by the end of next
week then? You would expect a more scientific approach
by the club, They do have a sports medicine consultant
    don't they ? :31:

    Fecks sake probably not.
