Good post and I agree with everything you say. Said it before the game but nobody listened to me.
Lustig, Sviatchenko and Biton are the three weak links in the team. It is as plain as a pikestaff.
We will never get anywhere in the Champions League with those three in the team.
And they musn't play in the Cup Semi or we are goosed.

I thought he was calm and collected in defence.

Poor on the ball and in an attacking sense though, I think that is the reality of it for him now. He can often look a bit uncomfy when he receives it, wanting to go back a bit too often IMO.

    Still like him.

I want Gamboa to get an extended run in the team. Didn't deserve to get dropped when he did.

Love him but he looks as if his legs are gone/going.

He moves like an old guy. Would love Gamboa to get a run but doubt it'll happen. Think there's 6/7 that no matter their form they'll always play under Rodgers.

Lustig is a leader and defended well today.. didn't do much going forward but that's more to do with how poor our front three were at linking the play and creating space.

We were clumsy and predictable today.

I can't remember. But that 5-1 seems like light years ago now. We have just beat them by one goal two games before and now a lousy draw.

Gamboa was playing well when he was dropped and Lustig shouldn't play every game..

Think we'd all like to see a bit more of Gamboa.

We all love him, but he's not good enough anymore. Gamboa is faster, more composed, and is a much bigger threat than him. Tierney does it brilliantly down the left side, lustig doesn't. He switches off too often now. The 5-1 game, he got beat at the far post by Miller in the air, beat to the ball by a 38 y/o Clint Hill today, & the 2-1 game at Ibrokes, he switched off & let Miller in front of him to score. Big man's no got the legs or the mentality anymore. Gamboa in please.

That is true but it just seems strange you should single those three out when maybe the forward players should be making and converting more chances against that rangers defence?

I think Rogic should replace Bitton personally and today Erik didn't have a great game but Lustig was alright and his experience is valuable. Maybe Erik needs dropped for a few game or teamed up with Jozo again but I think that would be unfair on Boyata who seemed to have a decent game apart from letting Waghorn through. Wasn't that long ago Lustig performed a Rabona, then McGregor flicked it with a lovely backheel to assist Moussa in the goal of the season. Now they are getting called donkey legs and not good enough. Plus McGregor's goal against Hearts proves he's capable of very high class football.

Has Gamboa provided any assists yet? I admire his speed and potential but has he been as effective as Lustig? I'd love to see Gamboa play more but I think important games are best left to Lustig till Gamboa proves he can perform at this level.

First time on here for a while and my last and the opinions seem to swinging my way
    -Gamboa twice the player !
Lustig is a joke - beaten at the back post again -slow and lacks awareness and ability
and thinks he is a boxer !!
CB - he can't even win balls in the air !
Swervedancer, what game were you watching today ?
Bring it on but I won't be reading/posting again -point proven.

Was poor today again, * touches and poor passing with random lumps up the park same as Erik, Gamboa needs to play.

From what I've saw of Gamboa his passing is excellent from all angles. May not have assists but a lot of key passes. Good on the ball and quite good defending, he was playing superb in a run of day 4/5 games before being dropped and lustig hasn't been playing too great at all recently so I think it's time to give Gamboa his chance again as he deserves it

I'm not against giving Gamboa another run in the team, as I said I admire his potential but I also trust Brendan's judgement and why he's picking the more experienced Lustig in important games.

I like Gamboa's ability to make one twos at speed with forward players like Forrest or Roberts and create openings that way. I think with more practise good things could come of it.

But Brendan signed him because he also sees a player there but there must be a reason he's not trusting him at the moment. I can only guess it's experience.

I can't believe how good people think Lustig is, i always chose him over Mathews at the time. The guy is in the same bracket a as Izzy. We have fans that will always love the guy buy he isn't good enough & it is time to move on

He should really be playing at his peak just now. 30 and 2 years left to run.
