I still can't believe people were denying that a manager can make that much of a difference to a player, Rodgers has cemented that point, the difference is incredible.

Precisely. Anyone who might have been unsure of the jump in managers wages will have had their concerns eased when they saw the queues for season books. Between ticket sales and European revenue, Rodgers has already earned his money - and then some!

I mentioned this a few weeks back, but hopefully the board now recognise that this is the way forward. Gambling on young, unproven players is one thing, but unproven managers can have a huge impact. Take risks on the players, but go for proven managers (within reason).

Something that they should have already knew judging by our history - Barnes to O'Neill.

Lenny was an anomoly, who was uniquely suited for Celtic.

Whenever I think about the fact we have Brendan Rodgers as our manager I always have a wee smile to myself.

There was one bit of his interview yesterday I liked and it went a bit unnoticed. Think it was his opening sentence when he mentioned how 'Aberdeen are a man marking side, you need to drag them out, tire them out' or something along those lines.

Not an inspirational quote or anything but it highlighted to me the work he and his backroom staff put in before each game researching the opponent. You'd maybe expect most teams to do that however you just know he is one of the most meticulous gaffers about. No doubt it is contributing to this long unbeaten run.

I used to like listebing to Deila talk about football but unfortunately he couldn't transfer it onto the park most of the time. With Brendan, he talks passionately and is clearly educated, but has the ability to back it up on the park.

I get the impression that his happiness and career fulfillment are more important than money to the man.

Also, he's on 2 million a year with us, not exactly peanuts. :giggle1:

Have to give credit to a certain few gentleman who operate upstairs for Celtic....

They've come in for massive criticism (And deservedly so) but they've really pulled off an incredible coup with this deal.

Always get a sense of dread when this thread is recent in the forum, keep thinking he's * off or left the club!

He's on a 2 year contract is that right?

12 month rolling contract which I believe means he has 12 months left on his deal every time he wakes up in the morning.
