Plus Brendan has already tried to replace him. Why won't he do it in the summer?

I would bite your hand off for 3million for Gordon.
Its got to be odds on that Brendan will be looking for a younger keeper for next season anyway. The chance to sell Gordon now and make a couple quid will step that process up. Id imagine we have targets in mind - costil being a brilliant shout - and there are plenty keepers out there in the 22-29 age range that we could tempt here for a good few years. And at a good price for us.

Wouldnt rush the signing of a new one either, the league is done and we have more than enough quality to make the treble, de vries may not be everyones up of tea, and perhaps it will put the idea of breaking records in the balance, but we cant be scared to move forward just for that.

Begovic > Bournemouth

I'd imagine Costil would want pretty decent wages, probably the same bracket as Scott Brown, if not more

Aye we should be able to afford a few players in the starting 11 on that sort of wage.
Get the guy signed up on a bosman and offer him the 20 k, seems extremely reasonable wage to me. And for key men we should be looking to pay at least that.

Of course wouldnt be wanting us to start paying 40 k to 4 or 5 guys, but a few of them on 20-30 should not be an issue.

 

If they up their bid again, get him on a plane down to London pronto.

Served us well but cost us dearly at times. Had a hard act to follow, of course. Brendan clearly wasn't certain of him and I guarantee he has been scoping his replacement aswell.

De Vries may be iffy but the league has been won Christ.

 

Can't believe how harsh people are on Gordon. He's improved significantly since September, distribution/ fewer errors. Think people are assuming that Celtic could replace him with someone equally good because we've got a good recent history of goalkeepers. Brendan Rodgers doesn't...

Anyway the most important is he's a class shot-stopper don't take him for granted HH.

 

Gordon has been great for us.....but if a decent cash offer came in for a 34 year old it should be considered. If it's near the 3million then personally I feel we should accept it.
But only if we have a better keeper than de vries lined up. Guys a bombs care

 

So we accept a offer now. He goes. Then we get "canny save a ball" in goals. That's us out the champions league qualifiers. I'd keep him. Reliable and solid. £3m is pennies. * Chelsea.

 

How long is left on his contract? If it were 2 or 3 years then I'd say no. But for 3million with a year or so would be accepted for most.....Unless they were a striker

 

I would accept £3 million for him without hesitation and use it to buy a younger upcoming talented keeper and bleed him in now.

 

A decent sign-on fee and around 25k a week might do it

 

Is Boruc coming back an actual possibility if Gordon goes?

I thought Boruc hated us after the Warsaw paperwork circus.
