Hartson played 49 games, scoring a massive 30 goals, including a hat-trick in a 4-0 win at Livingston last season and you want £1.5M for him, yeh aff yer nut????He was named both the Writers' Association Player of the Year and the the Scottish PFAs Player of the Year(although he shared the latter with Rangers' Fernando Ricksen). Guess you know more about fitba than these guys....don't think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He just signed a new deal in January which will keep him at the club until 2007. He will be a crucial figure in Gordon Strachan's plans as the Bhoys seek to reclaim the SPL trophy so like it or lump it, Strachan thinks he's the business and I expect he will be here for a while yet.

Livingston, our point exactly, he failed to score in the four OF league games, only managing to score in the SC and SLC and the huns are no mean defenders.
Europe-tap in against Barca, Shaktar when we needed him, he flopped. We have better options than this guy and Sutton has been continually been placed in weaker positions to facilitate for BBJ.

Hartson NEVER SCORED AGAINST (in the SPL) THE HUNS, JAMBO'S or surprise surprise MOTHERWELL, last season.

PLease re-read my posts...where did I say I want £1.5m for him? I said he costs us £1.5m in wages per annum. Is he worth that? NO.

As for scoring goals as a Celtic striker, EVERY TIC striker gets handed chance after chance. Sutton could have scored the same if he was given the starting advantage of Hartson, and if he was injury free.

    Hatrick against Livi?......Oh PLEASE!

Not value for money???? How many goals do you want for £6.5M. Do you even know how may goals he's scored for the club??? CHRIST!!!! his goal against Liverpool in Europe was worth that alone.

OK so I mis-read the £1.5M post, and yes I'd pay him they wages every season for 30 goals a season.
Re: Bhoywunda.........If MON thought it was the best option to play Hartson in that position rather than anyone else for they games, I'd back his judgement.

AS I said he is a weaklink. I think most other people would see this in varying extents.

Have I hit a raw nerve about his physique? If you are challenged by his size then I apologise for unintentionally letting you face the reality of being another jabba, lol.

I guess we shall see what GS has planned for the forward line, but I cant see him buying Zurawski and leaving him on the bench, I reckon 3 up front maybe the option

I think there's every reason for caution myself. Artmedia probably aren't the best team in the world, but they do have a reputation for being fast and playing on the counter. To counter that we will probably field a fairly slow line-up including two central defenders who have to be introduced to each other before each game.

I'm expecting a 2 - 3 goal victory tonight. Hopefully Magic will be on the scoresheet.

I think that we'll scrape it tonight, maybe 1-0 or 2-1 although I'm not really expecting much slick attacking football. Apart from the obvious concerns regarding our central defence my main worry is the central midfield as the Sutton/Lennon combination lacks mobility allowing the opposition to pass around them. We can only hope WGS plays Stan in his rightful position but I just can't see it, well not yet anyway. Why would he change things around for such an important game? We didn't start playing against Sporting until Stan moved into his central position and it's just so obvious to so many that he should never play anywhere else.

I've just never really got my head round the idea of playing Sutton in midfield. At first I thought it was to accomodate Bellamy up front with BBJ as Sutty's too good to leave out the side but it's never really worked. Playing Stan anywhere but the middle is surely detrimental to the overall good of the team? Hopefully the midfield will fall into place with the arrival of Nakamura but the supply to the strikers has been non existent in recent games and that must change tonight.

Got to agree with this (apart from the use of lanuage) good buisness would be to sell JH and buy 2 defenders better than Baldy&Varga.
I would have binned BB after Lyon and Varga after Munich which cost celtic big time as the lost revenue from that c/l campain has had a huge knock on effect.
Best thing about GS is i think he's already getting ready to bin them anyway.
