That is dangerously wrong. I'm not talking about eating 10 apples a day or drinking the juice of 20 oranges in one go, which is a completely separate thing.

Folk need coerced to eat more fruit not scare mongered into thinking it's bad for them. Fruit and refined sugar are not part of the same group, cutting fruit out your diet because of sugar disregarding the volume of nutrients they contain is stupid. Even attempting to link apples to a can of coke likewise.

Eat a lot of vegetables and salads, I have cut back on eating meat to only once or twice a week. I have to watch blood pressure etc as my family have a history of heart problems, since I changed diet blood pressure has reduced quite significantly.

Dont ever think that way mate, whether it is about eating, drinking or smoking. You have no idea how long you will live.....it could easily be a 100 in this day and age. I quit smoking in my 40s, and it is undoubtedly one of the best things i have done for my health. It will be the same for your diet too....you may not automatically feel good as such, but you will be a lot less likely to feel bad.

The end result of too much sugar entering your system is still the same

I said eating some fruit is fine.

    Scary stuff

And i already mentioned about the other nutrients and why it is better

Your system can't tell the difference between natural sugar from an organic, earth grown source such as fruit and the refined man made chemicals in a can of Coke? :52:

Eating a banana, grapes, an apple, a tangerine, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries every day may be on paper massive sugar overload but ask any Nutritionist if its healthy and they will all tell you it is. Especially when you consider the alternative.

For diabetics, for example, eating a slice of bread (white or wholemeal) is far worse for them than eating a piece of fruit.

Eat a load of fruit at lunch every day at work, wee missus makes it for me - grapes, strawberries, banana, grapefruit normally.

That plus a 1.5 litre bottle of water every day, keeps my skin sexy.

Folk think too much into all this. Eat what you want, in moderation.

Could stick to a strict diet all your days and get hit by a bus at 30....

Could eat * all the time and live to 80.

It's never too early and at 32 you are still quite a young man. Diseases like Alzheimer's Disease and heart disease are caused by the build up of fats in the blood vessels. Never too late to cut out saturated fats and trans fatty acids. Some people hate fruit, I have a mate who never eats fruit and he says he's never eaten a fruit he liked. I'm quite lucky that I love most fruit, rarely drink fizzy drinks and have never really been a big fan of fried food. When I have a cooked breakfast the only thing I'll fry is the tattie scone and I fry that in vegetable oil.

I am of the same opinion. I'll have a pizza every so often, I'll have a subway, sausage supper etc... But only once a week. Other days I have an omelette for breakfast, mince and pasta for dinner, homemade pulled pork etc... In terms of veg it's mostly sweet potato, onions and peppers and courgettes. That's the extent of my veg eating I don't eat fruit.

Thank there is too much emphasis on eating clean 100%.

Certain things even in moderation are still bad. Trans fats and saturates are really difficult for our bodies to break down and that's why they end up collecting in places like blood vessels. Personally I think that healthy foods taste much better than junk foods but to eat proper healthy foods for 3 meals a day every day costs a lot of money. No coincidence that here in Scotland we have some of western Europe's worst poverty and also western Europe's worst diet related health problems like heart disease and obesity.

Anyone who lives near an Aldi or Lidl should buy there fruit, veg and meats there. They are the cheapest for fresh fruit and veg and they do decent quality meats at decent prices. Aldi do some amazing pastrami, way better than the stuff Morrisons sells.
