That doesn't make sense mate because its thrown out of court… I know this is happening mate but im still not getting it. If something isn't sectarian then… Its sectarian? Is that what were getting at here?

I'm confused. This is the original quote:

He doesn't mention the police so that was my fault. He is just referring to the sound engineers of the TV companies who most likely have been informed the song is sectarian so that's why they have to turn it down?

It seems quite simple. I don't think he's having a debate.

I never doubted he was mentioning the engineers, im saying how can they be 'instructed' to turn down the sound thing when it isn't sectarian? And im not looking for the reply of 'because people follow orders' im saying they are instructed to put it down under the illusion that its sectarian. So… How can it be sectarian when its not sectarian?

That's the point he's making. It's not sectarian but some ignorant Hun at sky has likely branded it sectarian and worthy of muting.

I don't think the word sectarian will have been used whatever the outcome of the next couple months broadcasting.

I don't think the answer to the volume question can be answered until the 18th of November when we play Kilmarnock away on BT Sports.

Our fans can always be heard loud and clear at that game.

So if we notice any volume manipulation during that game then we'll know something is up.

If we detect nothing then it'll mean only Sky is up to something.

But it still doesn't make sense. There is a big derby on New Years Eve that will be very loud so if they manipulated the volume of that it would be too obvious.

I don't like to get paranoid but I'm sure our fans were silenced against Aberdeen.

Could it be possible it was a technical glitch and a one off game?

Edit: Just seen what Che said. If it is Sky self censoring then sectarian could be mentioned because they would have a list of songs someone has edited and reasoned why.

I think the point about SKY trying to enhance the EPL by "turning up" the mics and undermining the SPL by "turning them down" is an interesting one TBH. I would be very surprised if it is only happening to us.

I used to think this idea was paranoid nonsense, but the arrival of BT has shown me how wrong I was. Everything about their coverage is different. Yes, the atmosphere sounds much better on BT, but it's not just that. They actually talk about Scottish football in a positive way, try to promote the good aspects of our game. Their pundits seem to actually know our game. It's very clear that BT are doing what any TV company should do: talk up its product. At best SKY, on the other hand, could give a monkeys about anything other than the EPL, have seemingly chucked all their eggs in that one basket as far as football is concerned. At worst...

BT's coverage of Scottish football is first class a lot of the time. Great to have a TV company supporting the game that actually talks about it in a positive sense, if only our own journalists could follow suit once in a while we might generate a bit of feel good factor in 2017!

Journalists will never be positive about our game until the huns win the league.

    So, never.

Isn't it the case that sky weren't that keen to even take our football this season? Just that they were bound to (under ongoing contracts) as a 'token' deal in the shadow the EPL extremes...

They should have just ducked out and left it to BT. Although sky always seem to like to make a big deal about 'the old firm' . Whores!

As for Scottish sports media only being happy once 'the huns' have won the league... They're going to have to be pretty patient as that's going to be a fair while away!

I think BTs football coverage is better than sky's full stop with the exception of soccer Saturday which is probably the best live score show.

Pundits are usually more genuine with their opinions and not as many written in 'jokes' for the presenter. That fud who did our game yesterday has to be the most cringe worthy smarmy * they have. He's not the least bit funny, nor are the scripted jokes.

At least Sutton gets to rip that wee BT guy Daryl, more banter on there for sure.

Aye I feel watching BT Scotland is the same as watching BT EPL because they seem to give both leagues the same respect and reviews.

Sky is totally different, there is a huge difference in their attitude to both leagues.

Can't wait till BT buys the rights off Sky. What I dread is the 'New Firm' matches are separate and Sky outbids BT on that. I think they should just sell the league as a whole or not.

Aye it's quite funny watching Daryl trying to get one up on Sutton. No matter how much he tries I've not seen him succeed yet :56: He's much better than Tanner though who keeps making jokes no one gets and there's an awkward silence.

Sky have paid SPFL 15million for 30 games, versus the 7.6million they pay for each PL game. Utter madness, 7.6 million to watch burnley v * Hull.

Wish we had some back bone and told sky to ram that up the *.

I saw the other day Sky have been making some cuts though and made a lot of staff redundant, including chief sport reporter, Nick Collins. Hopefully that ridiculous deal they made with the PL is damaging them.

It's massively damaging them. Prices keep going up and people keep leaving and android boxes and streams etc are becoming more wide spread. Even a guy who turned 75 I know, is using an android box and sports mania ffs :56:
