Been an excellent player for us over the past number of years there's no question about it. It's a shame he doesn't fit into Rodgers plans but that's football. Think he could be off in January instead of the end of the season, hopefully by then he can get an appearance & a decent farewell from the supporters.

 

Love Commons. Probably my favourite player over the past 5/6 years. Loves the club and has made an excellent contribution in his time here. Scored a few worldies and some crucial goals including a few memorable ones against the old Rangers.

Really don't see how a fully fit Commons couldn't play the Rogic role - at least in home games during our busy December period. Especially considering our lack of cover in that position and Rogics perceived fitness issues/international commitments. Maybe he has slowed down more than any of us have been able to see after last season.

 

Think his family is settled up here. Can see Lennon taking him to Hibs in a player come coaching capacity. He still has a lot to offer & would be superb for them. Would suit all parties.

 

Guy was an absolute hero. That outburst in Europe really sealed his fate imo.

 

Confirming what we all knew really. As everyone has said, great servant and has given us some brilliant moments.

Kudos to his Mrs too, she proper became part of the Celtic family and has done some excellent charity stuff over the years.

I'll miss him but makes sense that his time is up.

 

I don't know, I feel like he could still do the job. Unfortunately we bought so many new players and you have Rogić too. I'm not buying into this he can't fit in Rodgers system, he can still be used as some sort of impact sub, Commons is a guy who can literally invent goals when we need them badly. He will either go to Hibs or go back to England. It's a shame that he wasted last two seasons, he barely played.

 

One of the most bizarre sagas I've ever seen at Celtic, given he is such a talented guy that rarely let us down.

For whatever reasons our last 2 managers just haven't fancied him

 

He's slow as * and lazy.

 

This is the crux of it he, he's too slow for our system, doesn't graft enough without the ball(although that can be said of a few in our squad just now) and he's past it. He's not going to pull off a Lubo and start producing magic at 33, we seen last season he was past it even if he did contribute to our awful campaign in Europe.

Every time I post in this thread I look as if I hate the guy, I don't, I'll remember everything he's done for us. But I'm also real and realise he's not up o it anymore.

 

He's like Sturridge for Liverpool, a quality player just not suited to how we want too play he gave us some great memories but I think he'll head to Hibs in January then join Lenny's coaching staff

 

If he is not in the managers plans then he should be punted in January.
He is still a good player that can perform at a club where he is wanted .

 

I'd love him to make at least a few appearances before he goes, if nothing else because I'd love to see him get 100 goals for us, but I'm sure he'll get a good send off either way, and hopefully be back at the club in some capacity in the future.

 

Would be nice if he could get on to say bye to the fans at some point. Great signing for us

Still can't believe we gave him a new deal. 20k a week to sit on his fat * for two years.

His fitness/physique for a professional athlete is a disgrace.

Best thing Rodgers has done is bomb out him, Stokes and Mulgrew.

 

This. I think its complete kop out of Rodgers to say he cannot fit into the team.

Sad to see him leave the club on such a wimper. Would've loved to see him retire a Celt. Hopefully he can get an agreement done with Lenny and move to Hibs. If not, he'll be odds on the join Blackburn and link up with Stokesy and Mulgrew.
