drop brown 2mo!!!

Ellboy i'd bet that if GS was to go another manager/coach would immediatelly have Brown playing like the star he is. At hibs he was allowed to roam and create danger by exposing weeknesses, at Celtic he must stay rigidly to his position which doesn't seem to suit or please him.

 

That was an even bigger mistake.Do you honestly think someone would offer us double his worth now.?As for me I would be looking elsewere for a 4 million plus rated Midfielder.


P.S. Lubo you may be right.However just my opinion m8 but I see little in Brown to fill me with confidence that he will develop into a top talent.To me he is just a combative midfield runner with little class,composure or ideas when in posession.Also as a combative type player he is not to efective at the ugly side of the game either.

Maybe with experience next to him (Lenny type figure)then he may learn the game and take his game forward.However with Donati and Sno (not the finished articles) how is he suposed to learn his trade.

An analogy I will make is like Drew Henry playing me at Snooker I would learn a great deal but he would learn * all.However in Snooker terms Drew Henry is * but if he was to practice with Ronnie O´sullivan then he to would learn a lot and probably get better. My point being is we dont have a Ronnie O´sullivan (Lenny or Lambert) for him to learn off so how is he exspected to progress.I hope that made sense.

If we got Thomson and Brown do you think that would have made a difference, those two worked well at Hibs?

 

I think Thomson may have helped.However I think Thomson has improved by playing with experience in Fud Ferguson and Hemfanni.Brown dosent have this with us as to me he is the main man and that is where the problem lies IMO.

Just for you lubo a Golf analogy.Andrew Coulthard(When he was younger) Had potential but if he practiced with me he wouldnt improve.However if he practiced with a Gary Player type figure then surley he would learn the game.Coulthard is probably the wrong guy to choose as he is still pish.Mind you Drew Henry is also still pish.LOL.

Lets hope Brown dosent go the same way.

i think its a mixture of gs rigid tactics thats restrictin his game and the fact he hasnt got a solid figure to play with.he plays a lot better with hartley.and even if he's not playin to his potential yet, he still plays with heart compared to likes of naylor and donati

 

Think Brown is a great player. we defo missed him against Barca. don't get me wrong if we paid 4.4million for him and he was 28-30 i'd be thinking about asking for some change back. But he is still young and will get better, that is why he cost us so much.

 

no way would i drop brown, no hes not lived up to expectations but as far as haviing a backbone is concerned hes one of a very few we have.

i think people expect too much from him hes only 22 and just joined from an inferiour team

 

I dont agree with you Hammer as a lot of people have rated Balde for as long as he has been at the club. Also their are a number of fans who are of the opinion that Riorden just hasnt been given a proper chance.

Also m8 for as long as you have read my posts on here I dont think you could say I have been inconsistant with my views.

for some reason the huns have got it into there heads that he is destines to play for them,...and that he will do soon ( parties the night away when lovenkrands won us the league and all that)...he looks pretty happy at celtic to me

 

i agree he is a key player who is off form we need him to produce a performance 2moro it is times like this when £4m players need to produce the goods

 

I definetly dont think brown should be dropped yes his past few games could be in question but at the end of the day its the same as every other player he misses a few games wether it be through injury or just being dropped and everyones opinion changes and they NEED that player back for example nakamura a few months ago everyone wanted him dropped when he gets injured o we need him back now, it would be the extact same if brown was dropped he is better to have in that midfield than hartley or sno.

I think he was answering his critics directly when he said that WGS is working with him to help him play the way he wants him to play in the central midfield role. Said something like he was having to get used to playing in a 4 4 2 rather than a 4 3 3 position and needing time to adapt to what's expected of him

I got the impression that WGS doesn't want him doing what we expected of him (if that makes any sense!) and we're slating his performances because of it. OK he was at fault for the goal the other night but he doesn't make many mistakes like that or not as many as some.

I would most certainly play him as unpredictable as he is right now I would rather have him in there.......besides I think if he sticks with us he will become a legend :icon_mrgreen:

Another point i must make is how many ppl can actualy say truthfuly that when they knew brown would miss the game against barca because of his suspension they didnt say oh no we are going to miss him, i cant so if he was missed against barca then how should he be dropped for the hibs game or any other for that matter.
