aye your right stupid idea, remember the fact that buying the club is the initial outlay and you would have revenue coming from two leagues,both teams would look after themselves no prob at all, use a bit of thought and imagination maybee then you will grasp the concept champelect

Just buy Manchester United and we can start at the top. Rename them to Celtic and sell Old Trafford to pay for the deal. Move The newly named club to Celtic Park and sell all their players except for C.Ronaldo and then transfer all our players, except Caldwell, to the club. Shazzam! We're in the EPL.

Arsenal and Man Utd have afiliates in Belgium with Royal Antwerp.etc.Not a bad Idea if you can aford to buy a player and send him somewhere else for a few years to develop.If Celtic went down a similar route then I could see it being beneficial.

If we are talking about buying a club to ive us away into the EPL then why not.MK DONS bought Wimbledon ans created a new club in a new town.Then why couldnt w do the same.

If it meant buying a Burnly as already has been sugested and then re-badging them Celtic then surley the presendent is already set with MK Dons.For me if this was a possibility and we had to remove ourselves from the SPL.Even if it meant starting from Division 3 in England I still think it would be good in the long run as we will no doubt climb the leagues within 4 or 5 seasons.

 

the precedent is hearts. there is the owner of a lithuanian club in charge of hearts and he is loaning all the kaunas players to hearts. for * sake there really are some dumb * on here championselect being top of the list

lol....yh this thread is * fukin poor. how much would it cost to buy burnley for a start, and then you would have to contend with their fans who are exrtremely proud and passionate....you cant go and destroy a football club this is far too radical...the more i think about this idea the worse it gets.....so at the end of it all...we really wouldnt be the same club fundementally would we....we would just be burnley renamed....celtic that we all know and love would be gone.......good one:icon_mrgreen:

the point i was trying to make at the start of all this is that the examples i gave i.e owning two clubs, loaning players from that club, renaming your team, and being located in a different country to that in which you play, have already been done so why dont we do all of the above if we're so desperate to play in england

 

You can only make like 5 loan signings a season anyway, and there would be no fans going to the Burnley games, that's for sure. They'd be outraged if we were to use their team to feed our 2nd strings. How would you like it if Blackburn Rovers bought over Celtic and we ended up with a load of pish players?!

We already have this, we got KV Oostende as a feeder club in the summer.

 

Some guys on here need to calm the * down - I would rather read threads like this than another "WGSs a *" or "kill Caldwell" thread. At leasts this is a bit different - there was no need for any of the abuse chucked his way for coming up with an idea FFS.

 

Luton Town would be a good bet, money problems so we'd get them cheap, massive Irish community already in place and several thriving Celtic supporters clubs in the immediate area. The Airport has a direct easyjet from Glasgow and it serves loads of Irish airports as well. The drawbacks I can see in this suggestion is A) it will never happen B) the towns a cess pit....good people though!
