we all dont mind a player with limited ability but will give 110% to make up for that ,but its also hard to be brave on the ball when the fans are on your case ,as with bitton ,i wonder if he would make a good ball playing defender ,our midfield has to be slik and fast as our forwards also have to be ,i would like to see dembele played in the sutton role on european games ,as another out ball ,to hold up play then griff can play also ,he can be lethal 18 yrds out and is a danger ,we need that threat too.

Memory might be playing tricks on me but wasn't Bitton brought on against the beer Shavers in
the away leg to slow the game down ?

He might have done a good job and be well suited to that role but the game against BMG was
totally different situation and needed a different style of play.. though i'm struggling to think of
any of our other players who could have played and made a difference.

Pretty sure Jan will see signings

It was. Rogic and Tierney still had a lot to do afterwards though.

Overall point is that he has been more detrimental to us than anything in the three games we have played in the CL.

His body language shows his lack of desire to do anything more than he has to. He comes across as lazy, and not willing to burst a gut to help out the team.

Watching him last night after he made a bad pass (one of many), rather than try and make up for it, he was guilty of ball watching.

In his defence, I think he's more suited to playing deep in a 3. The bank of 2 is too much running for him.

Still don't think he's good enough though.

Was shocking. Was unfairly criticised after the City game IMO but he deserved it after last night.

Just said it in the Brown thread but midfield is a problem which needs addressed. We lack depth and quality.

Brendan knows we need a quality replacement for him pronto. We will probably wait till the next season since we won't be in Europe next year anyway, but Bitton is the definite weak link of the team.

Absolutely. Bitton is surely Brendan's priority to replace.

Biton's brain is too slow for what our team want to do. Time for him to join big Efe come January.

Biton isn't the only problem though.

We need 2 brand new CM's minimum. We can't keep having to rely on Armstrong or McGregor coming on in Europe.

If we had someone as eager as Broony playing alongside him in the DM position then I think we'd do a lot better.

I agree we probably need to take a step up from Armstong and McGregor in CM now that we have that extra bit of cash. I do like McGregor though but I think he's reached his creative limit.

You could tell Brendan went through him at half time for his lack of effort aswell. Charged down the keeper a few times right at the start of the second half and then went back into his shell.
