David McCarthy the Daily Rancid reporter writes today "The Rangers fans used to sing a song telling Tommy Burns to cheer up back in the 90s"

Lets recall SOME of those words in that song McCarthy you piece of *! Was their not a line where it refers to TB as a "Sad * *"?

I think you're being over the top mate. If you read the article it's basically an interview with Tommy Burns and how he rates Walter Smith. They are friends and mutual respect between people from each side of the Old Firm can only be a good thing.

 

Nah! McCarthy is a dyed in the wool Hun and knows fine well the reference in that song, which is why he used it

think the point hes making is about the hypocrisy in the media, the song cheer up TB contains the lines "sad * ....." and in the article its made to sound like a fun inoffensive song thats ok to sing while we get stick left, right and centre for being sectarian for singing the holy goalie or slating that mentalist gazza

To me this is just another example of Celtic supporters looking for something to complain about. There is a very simple answer to anyone who has a problem with the Daily Record - don't read it and don't buy it ! Simple but effective.

I would also suggest that since the article focuses on TB talking about Boruc there is a reasonable link to the 'cheer up' angle. TB's quotes about Goram are well known and now, in this interview, he is talking about a keeper making him happy. It's not exactly Shakespeare but you can see the journalist's angle. One keeper made him miserable and now a keeper is making him happy.
