Stan Petrov.............

Petrov was wonderful for us, I remember his many goals. I remember being first impressed with him when he scored a half volley against Motherwell in a close 1-0 win at home in his 2nd season or something. He scored in so many 1-0 wins for us by then. I dont mind admitting that he was my favourite player along with Larsson for like 5 seasons. Its really sad how hes not doing well at Aston and being left out, hes too good for that. The reason for this is just down to a big lack of confidence. If Celtic do bid for him this summer I will fully support it and come on fans, has Donati even come close to Petrov's best form for us this season? I think not.

And by the way Rangers fans really hate Petrov, so he must have been great for us! :icon_mrgreen:

 

I'd have them both back. Petrov is simply better than what we have with the exception of Brown. Also Maloney will give you more goals and is capable of filling in up front.
If McGeady got injured we wouldn't have a replacement. Glad he's not a right back lol.

 

Good player; took the huff in the end, doesn't want to play for us anymore. No longer part of the equation at Celtic Park, so good luck to him, but whatever he does with his life doesn't matter a * to me. For those that don't agree, fair enough, but don't start moaning because of a difference of opinion. You can suck him off all day for all I care. Away and buy a * Villa shirt.

 

Jeezo,some of the replies here begger belief! Stan gave us 6 seasons and a HUGE transfer fee which was used for the funding of other players. The cries of Mercenary,*?? As i have said before,we are a selling club. As much as some people will disagree if we get serious money for a player then he will be sold,end of.
Another thing that we the fan don't understand is that players want to try themselves against better players in better leagues. We are diehard,we believe our team is the best and can't understand why they want to leave, BUT it happens. Now i know Henrik stayed and he is the exception,but i bet you he got a bit bored facing the likes of Motherwell, Killie four times a season,i know i do!!
So lay off Stan,he was a good player and desreved to go and try his luck elsewhere. Cheers Stan

 

Stan 6 seasons- and we got a lot of money, he just wanted a new challenge i think and got a bit tired
As for maloney, he made a wrong move, went for money and dosnt get his game much more. His agent fed him a lot of lies aswel
I would take both back for a total of about 5-6 mil, i think it would be great

 

i have to agree with the op i would take petrov back with open arms nobody makes midfield runs like petrov used to and he scored many goals of fine quality for the hoops

 

think its time to leave petrov alone? fact is if he went down there and ripped the place up it would look good for the SPL. show that its not as bad as everyone thinks. but people prefer players to fall on they're face when they leave parkhead, and why? what diffrence does it make? its nothing but childish imo.
same goes for maloney. i hated that he went, but thought well- if he does good down they're and the fans love him its a good advert for scotland and spl players.

stan did a bit of huffing before he went but after 6 years of service and success i cant blame him for going and trying something new, wee shaun was poorly treated by the club and the money he was offered was offensive to someone who was playing as well as he was at the time so he was right to leave, liam miller however can go *, thought he was too big for the hoops, he'll be playing championship football next season

He broke his leg at this club and the club nursed him through it brilliantly, he started to earn a top salary and was a real key to our team. Yet even though the fans adored him he seen the £ signs flashing in his eyes and headed south to a average team. The fact he was miserable during our title party was so unprofessional and left a sour taste in my mouth of Stan.

 

Id take him back right away , iv said a few times on here recently exactly that.

Dont disagree with the years he served at celtic but he let it be knowing he wasnt playing for celtic his form took a big dip ,his posture said everything he starting sulking he wouldnt joining in after winnibg the league ,do you want me to go on? then * aff tae his mate mon then deja vue do you want me to start the story again cos he is now doing acting the same way at villa and you wonder why i dont want him back at parkhead.And if you read my post correctly i said larsson basically is the model pro

sorry we aren't rangers, they sent the most overrated player bazz ferguson to b-burn rovers and he comes back at a cut price with his tail in between his legs, wouldn't like us to be that desperate for a player

 

No1-celtic are not a selling club -were you got that from i dont know No2-are celtic fans thick in your eyes you have more or less said it,by we dont understand that celticbasically are not the best No3 who are you cos [i know i do] whats that all about .No4 stan is a good player and deserved to go so lay of stan ,aye he was good that good mate he is keeping the bench warm for his pal maloney when he gets subbed ,he got found out big time down there and i hope he rots down there his treatment at the end of his stay at celtic was so unproffesional ie not celebrating etc and now his old boss and his new boss must think stan has a quin cos the one that arrived at villa is not the player he had at parkhead

If you mean in his final few months as a Celtic Player.I agree with you to the fact his form diped but he still made a telling contribution for us during that time.Also if you are upset that he anounced he was no longer going to play for the Club. Then to me you should be equaly anoyed at Larsson as he also told us that he wouldnt be staying beyond his contract.To me both players gave their all and both players were 100% profesional while they played for the Club.

He sulked at final whistle celebratins as he no longer felt part of the team.Their are a number of reasons for this.some sections of the fans where anoyed as he was leaving for a smaller club in Villa and let him know this and turned on him.He also had a falling out with WGS a few weeks beforehand wich added fuel to thses fans ideas that his attitude was not good.IHowever MO this is something a lot of players have done with the manager and Stan was not an Isolated incident so for me to be anoyed at him for this just dosent make sense.

He is not acting the same way at Villa he is just short of confidence.As he is playing as a holding midfield player it is obvious to all Celtic fans that he is shocking at playing this role as we all know from his time under Barnes,Villa´s midfield sit in front of their back four and break up the play.Imiediatley the ball gets played up to Agbolohour and he runs like a whippet wich dosent allow the midfield to get up and suport.We all know how Stan best plays the game and this is not by playing the sitting role his game is all about clever touches to create space for himself and pass and move football.He is not getting this at Villa and looks lost out on the field because of this.

IMO he is not a problem player in terms of his attitude as you sugest,far from it as he was never a minutes trouble at celtic park so to sugest he is not a model profesional is just not a true statement.
