Anybody who dosent think we could improve on almost every area of the park is just kidding themselves on.Their is far to much deadwood and far to many average players that need moved on.* knows how you do that without taking it up the * though.

As if you were a Manager of another club would you pay good money for most of our players.?

2. Another club must want to buy him

No but when they want to sell more than half our squad including our few world class players then yes.

A step in the right direction in the CL would be holding onto Boruc,McGeady and Naka ( At Times :icon_mrgreen.

Apologies on the Naka and Aiden remark, but you did say you would sell Brouc and since he has signed a new contract we are in no rush to push him out the door.

 

I dont want sell him ffs! I'd keep him in a nanosecond.
Its mine and thousands of others belief that Artur will have a "If a Team who has more chance of winning the CL comes in for me i can go for X amount" clause in his contract. I'd stake money on it.

 

Listen just a thought.We will find it dificult to shift the average players to raise some transfer funds.

Then maybe we should sell a Boruc,Mcgeady or even both as we could comand 25-30 mill for them. Surely we should be looking at the bigger picture and not just about individuals. If this kind of money would help us sign quality all over the park then maybe in the long run it may benefit us as a whole.

Like everyone else I want to keep our best players but if by selling them they help the team as a whole then it may not be so bad an idea.

 

Ellboy if that is your belief then there is no way forward for Celtic Football Club, what sell big players for big money? Then buy big players and sell them after a season? For Celtic to progress to the next stage of world football, we need to keep people like Artur and Aiden, and build the squad around them instead of being content in bringing in mediocre replacements.

 

I think m8 we have far to many mediocre players at the club currently. If we are honest we realy only have two ireplaceble players in Boruc and Mcgeady. For me though two players dont make a team.

It goes without saying that nobody wants to sell our best players but in these two cases it is somewhat un-presidented that we have two players that could comand such a high transfer fee. Their are alot of posters on here who complain that because we cant spend 4 or 5 million on a player this means we cant excpect to compete with the richer clubs of the EPL for players and ultimately this hinders our progress in the highest level of football i.e.CPL.

I dont necesarily go along with this theory as I believe that their are plenty of top quality players out there just waiting to be discovered.We just have to be good enough to go out and identify them.

However if the lack of money argument is the truth and as I say I dont personaly go along with this theory. Then it must make sense to sell these two players for a combined total of almost 30 million. This surely could be re-invested on 5 or 6 quality 4 to 6million pound rated players. Along with the money already in the coffers surely if spent wisely this would help the side improve overall.After all it is a team game is it not and not just about individuals.

 

We have a few players who could go and not be missed.By my estimation the following players should go:

Gravesen-1m
Riordan-800K
Balde-500K
Doumbe-Free
Pressley-Free
Killen-700K.

That adds up to 3m pounds and about 80K a week off the wage bill.If we were to spend 3-4m on a CB,2-3m on a LB,and 2-3m on a striker then that would only be a net spend of 4-7m pounds.Perfectly reasonable IMO.
