Jan's goal was very dynamic this weekend... Looks to be returning to his old self... It truly looks like he's coming around real well this second half of the season.

will the big man score against Barca?

I dont believe we've seen the real VOH yet! I think he's only reached 80% of his potential at Celtic & truly hope we see him hitting the 100% mark real soon

Maybe the pressure of knowing there's some quality on the bench waiting to take his place will spur him on. I've been impressed with him lately though, no doubt.

We'll see if he scores against the Big teams. Hope so. I might be wrong but Man U away was the last time.

He'll lose his place in the side, probably to Samaras. Although it'll probably take a while for this to happen as he's one of the GS chums.
Not good enough for Celtic. The only 2 performances i've been impressed with were his first v hibs and the killie game.

Its a difficult one because he seems to be really popular amongst the squad and no-one can fault the guy's effort. I'm just still not sure what kind of player he is supposed to be for us. For me he should be winning a lot more in the air in the box. But if he bangs one in on Wednesday he'll be my new favourite player

He doesn't have 'chums' its a myth he has experienced footballers he trusts and relies on to a lesser extent than his predecessor did as well.

Not good enough for Celtic but good enough to play for Holland during a period of time their attacking options include Van Persie, Van Nistelrooy, Huntelaar, Babel, Kuyt, Koevermans, Castelen and Robben. That doesn't add up for me.

Obvously i hope he'll get back to how he plays for his nation team: Holland. I think he is a brilliant striker but VERY inconsistent.:31:

JVH still has a lot to offer us as he has shown in the last 6 weeks or so.
However I think he will be replaced over time as Samaras is by far a more mobile option if he can bring the goals then he will soon be playing in JVH slot.

From the few minutes in total I have seen of Samaras, i say I pick him over Jan against Barca. He is far more mobile and moves around better yet also keeping some physical presence. Obviously he is unlikely to be as effective as Jan in the air but I'd like to see more of Samaras.

jvoh cant win,he played poor because he struggled with fitness he regains his fitness and starts banging goals in and it still is'nt good enough for some.

get off his back and give him the support and respect he deserves, hes a good player and now hes regained fitness he is prooving it.

Totally agree with that JVOH isnt hartson or ,sutton which a lot of people are hoping he was going to be like that, hes trying his socks off at the moment and i think he is now starting to turn it round ,he is a bit more aggresive in his play and he has a bit more movement about him time will tell.

It wouldn't would it, unless its your opinion.
I don't give a flying * about holland, i don't watch any of their games or follow their progress, i would find it hard though to believe that JVOH is a regular starter for them.
I watch his performances for us and form my opinion, i don't hunt for stats and look at caps won.
Anyway hammer, time will tell, and as i said he'll be dislodged, probably by Samaras.
Also maybe, just MAYBE, its the case that our league and style of play just doesn't suit Jan, no fault of his own.

Funny you should mention the fact you don't think he's suited to our league as i've read the opinion of a number of managers/former players this week that say exactly the opposite. Like you say though you have your right to think he's not good enough, i reserve the right to defend him!
