i think most folks have other teams that they like to see doing well(unless the play the tic)and like to check ther results but anyone who says they love two teams is not a true suporter of any one of them............ther can be only one.

I have to say that one of my earliest football memories was peering thru a fence on a family holiday to Spain about 1973ish watching Barcelona train, and my dad pointing out Johann Cruyff. That day he bought me my first ever football strip (Barcelona). So its fair to say that I have a wee bit more than a soft spot for them, this has grown stronger through the years as I have discovered more and more similarities between our clubs. (recommended reading "Barca" by Jimmy Burns, a * great book !!)
The first time Celtic and Barca had a competitive match in my lifetime (UEFA Cup) I wondered how i would feel, but as soon as the match kicked off there was no question that I wanted The Bhoys to win, no question whatsoever.

p.s
Ellboy....... read the book I mentioned above and you'll see why Real Madrid are the Spanish Huns !!

Hi brothers!!!!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
Totally in agreement with the argumentation of Rosario ,( by the way I hope to find him the next wednesday in Glasgow).
On the other hand, dear Ellboy, I recommend to you you read the book that recommends Rosario, I wish to explain to you that the Real Madrid, whose sport category I cannot deny, directly represents the imperialism and the oppression against the nations without state as we are Catalan and Scottish people and part of the Irish people.
Otherwise, dear Rosario, still is more precise to compare to the Rangers, of unlucky memory in Barcelona, with the Real Club Deportivo Español. In its name they appear two of the concepts that we detested the Catalans more: “Real” by the monarchy and “Español” by the opresor concept of Spain on Catalunya.
He would be extraordinary if next wednesday some act of nationalistic affirmation in the center of Glasgow could be organized. Any chance of it ???????
All the best, mates
Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed

For me it is one team for each sport I watch. Any more than that is quite difficult to keep up with. I guess since I support Celtic and the ROI national team that would be two football teams. :icon_mrgreen:

I also support Man United and have done pretty much since I got into football. I was always going to be a Celtic fan the whole family is on both sides but I kinda got into United by myself.

nothing makes me more depressed than losing I rely on Celtic to keep me happy kinda (this was mentioned in some other thread) but when United lose, I am sad for the day or so but the only thing I think of is my mates slagging me for it .
however the last two or three seasons I was mad when United lost, because I wanted so badly to beat Mourinho as the Chelsea manager, which United did in a close title race. In contrast, we had the title wrapped up by pretty much November. So for the last five months or so of last season you could say I was more concerned whether United won or lost, since we had won pretty early on.
However that didnt stop me from proclaiming my love for Artur Boruc when he saved the pen against them, or Naka's free kick :D

Bar "celona" summed it up pretty well in his post tbh.

The book is a terrific read and a real eye opener, honestly we thought we had it hard, but they had club presidents executed By Franco's troops !

I dont think theres any Celtic fan who wouldn't draw direct comparisons between our club and theirs after reading the book.

Its written by a guy who (i beleive) is half Irish/half Spanish and was born and raised in Spain.

Highly recomended read !! Best football book I've read ( cue for a new thread i think):50:

Yeh my Spanish teacher told me that the other day the Real Madrid president or somethin ordered Barca's president to be shot during the Spanish Civil War.
