For the love of G*d please someone find a way to stop Strachan picking that * up Caldwell again. It's as if every time he gets the ball he looks for a way to hurt us. The guy is an utter disaster of a footballer and does not deserve to wear the hoops.

We were outplayed tonight in every department, but where we were truly shown up was in our passing. A team who want to be in the last 16 (at least) of the CL year on year need to have players who can string more than a couple of passes together and I don't care who your opponents are, passing is technique and concentration and should be the backbone of any Celtic team...the ability to pass the ball to feet and to be able to do it quickly. Right from the start tonight we were defending way too deep and allowed Barca far too much time on the ball to be able to pick out passes. Naylor's marking of Messi was nothing short of a complete * joke and we should count ourselves lucky Messi's still on a bad run of form. The Messi of 6 months ago would have folded Naylor up and had him stuffed in his back pocket the whole game.

I could go on all night but * me....we need a defence and we need one badly. Big Mick might be a great guy but he's no leader of men and as for creativity in midfield....next time we have some let me know as apart from McGeady (who was double marked) no-one was either willing or able to do anything worthwhile with the ball.

I hate to say this but it's true...we flattered ourselves by scoring. Strachan's tactics are a * disgrace!

I thought there were a lot of below pars:

    Boruc looked bad on crosses
Naylor really had to stretch to semi-cope
Caldwell went to peices after he sold the goal
Hartley is usually great in these games but didnt look match fit
    Robson only played in patches
Naka's looked very lightweight, slow and generally poor

Think we could have played better on another night. We missed brown a bit IMO.

as stated by a few folk! good game to watch for the pure skill of Barca, but a bit peed off that we gave the ball away so cheaply! but the league is more important and as the saying goes....you learn from your mistakes! the result wont kill me, and it doesnt put any money in my pockets....

i agree and in my opinion we should be playing Bobo Balde instead of caldwell every time! and as much as i think caddis done well tonight i would have started with mark wilson!

We could have gone 4-5-1 and played for a draw but I am glad we didnt.

barcas defence looked shaky with crosses but our defence gave away too many cheap balls, that aside i thought we could have snatched a draw, but it is barca after all..

    chin up lads

Far more dignity playing a 4-4-2 and losing 3-2 than playing 4-5-1.

To * with the huns.. When the final day of the season is over and the green and white ribbons are attached to the League trophy are you going to be worried about what the huns think about our 3-2 defeat at home to Barcelona in the Champions league..

The reason we conceded 3 is because we scored 2...
Barca beleive they have to score one more than the opposition every time they play and because they're so good they usually do..

The huns never scored against Barca at home so Barca never needed to go looking for a second goal against them.. The only reason Barcelona never even scored 1 goal against them at hunbrox was becausse they've never had to break down an 11 man defence before.. We tried to play football tonight , it just never came off..

Spot on.. The club doesn't need to prova anything to anyone.. They just need to carry on the success they've been having domestically and a good run in Europe.. Lets not go overboard with expectation..

The thing is , educated people on here will tell you Nakamura starts every game if he's fit.. It's only when we're up against quality opposition do they realise that workrate (and physical prescence) is worth as much as technical ability..

I reckon he made about 8 bad mistakes tonight , maybe more , but Im not bothered.. If we're going to defend with 6 or 7 guys who are a maximum of 10 yards apart then it's going to lead to basic errors.. How many times did one player pass it to another and get it straight back while under pressure which led to us losing posession.. No getting away from it Caldwell was awfull.. Nakamaura played the first 30 minutes as a ghost but then worked hard and covered right across the pitch.. Robson and Caddis took half an hour to get the nerves out their system , understandably so. Donati or Robson ? It's maybe not a straight him or him , because Hartley and Brown will be wanting that midfield position , but it's Robson for me and I'll tell you why.. His natural instinct is to attack.. We needed that tonight and we'll need it against the huns.. Robson is a leader , he doesn't look around for orders , or hum and haw if he should bust a gut to help out the attack.. He plays instinctively and pushes himself to help the attack , and within seconds he's heading back to cover the midfield area.. I think he will score against the huns this season in a vital victory for us.. By May we'll all be saying hats off to Robson..

Overall Im not upset about tonight.. A defeat is never welcome but it was always a difficult game and if you believe we are still in the tie (we need to score twice in Barca nd hope they don't) then it's still alive..

Im more interested in our next SPL game right now..

we should be happy to be in this position yes some of our players were suspect but that was to be expected if that was us playing below par then we done well we are a team getting better every year

A few class signings will do us alot of favours but i think if we can keep this form up for the rest of the season and we will be looking at three in a row and i will be a happy chappy

I was proud that we actually went for it, fantastic game, disappointing result but with a few signing and a gd draw I could see us getting to the 1/4 final of a champions league soon enough. Not saying this tie is over but it'll obviously be extremely difficult but there's no shame if we lose to that Barca team, they're sensational, Messi is out of this world.

If it wasn't for a couple of mistakes we could've sent shockwaves around europe again and that was with some of our players below par.

    Keep the faith
