Not to take the * out of the op, but....does he or anyone actually believe we aren't making a few signings over the coming weeks?

He's already said that the squad will get a chance to impress in training, bar a few duds who've departed, thankfully..

It really is too early for panicking. We aren't even really started yet, although the backroom staff will be hard at work with target's firmly in sight and probably a hunch on the kinda squad they already want, with what we have..

I wouldn't be surprised if we announce 2 or 3 on the same day over the next week or 2, which will be big headline news of course, which the board will be happy about..

A time for calm folk's. In Brendan we trust :50:

With the Euro's going on, it probably won't make it easier signing any possible players who are in the tournament.

They don't have to be a major threat to be a rival. Hearts, Aberdeen and that new team from Glasgow are certainly rivals.

    Some players are lost causes.

Pretty much. Their agents can negotiate im sure but the players would have had to give a good indication as to which club/s they were wanting to head to first. They won't be in the correct mind at the tournament.

    I imagine we'll have a busy August.

Rodgers can actually properly assess the squad starting from Monday in training. I'd imagine we'll have a signing or 2 by early July.

    No, not at all.

And I wasn't the only one, loads of people in the Aberdeen thread telling doom mongers to cut the hysterics, especially around January or so, us and Aberdeen were pretty much like for like as far as points went at the same time last season, and the same people losing their nut over it then too.

The gulf in quality and depth of squad is just too big for them to sustain a challenge all season, we'd need a MASSIVE collapse or they'd need to be firing on all cylinders the whole year and not suffer a single injury to push us to the wire.

The squad we have now is more than enough to get us through the first round of qualifying, where we'll be against part-timers. It's maybe even good enough (if the tactics are right) to get us through the next round.

I'd definitely expect one or two new faces to be in place ahead of the final qualifier.

Not worried as all the best signings are still in the market(Apart from Joey Barton:56:) and Brendan has to assess the squad which i think should get us through the qualifiers under his guidance,so no need to be hasty in signing anyone.

Maybe with England getting papped out of the Euros we could get a couple of them on the cheap.
After all they would be considered only slightly better than Scottish players.

For the first time in years i had genuine concerns we could lose the league, probably more due to the fact that we were * rather than aberdeen being good, but concerned none the less.

Rodgers hasn't even met the players yet. Not worried.

It's good enough to get us into the Champions League, no doubt.

Even if he wasn't I still think the squads good enough to get through if managed properly.

Griffiths wasn't our biggest threat in Europe, even whilst in the form of his life.

On paper it's good enough to get through those 3 ties with some luck but I think we are still missing 2 or 3 players who can make the difference and make it more assured.

Need a proper holding midfielder, another commanding centre half and someone who can produce some magic in the final third.

Im not worried if anyone remembers when O'Neill got the job we expected a massive clear out & about 6 or 7 signings but only signed Sutton & Valgaeren during pre-season & used his managerial ability to get the best out of the other players who didnt look up to it the previous year then gradually brought in more players a good manager makes all the differnce im sure when it comes to deadline day the deadwood will b gone & Rodgers will have signed 3 or 4 players dont need more than that have a really good squad we just had a really poor manager who didnt know how to use them

True mate, no doubt about that for me.

Still though, think Roberts and Rogic can provide that, Commons can and I have high hopes for Ajer.
