Lennon would be hurting as much as any of us at what's happening with Deila at the helm. If he thinks he can fix that, he'd want to come back I would think.

Except, Lenny refused to sign up until he got it on his terms. Took about 8 weeks, they wanted to force a mentor on him, he told them to shove it he'll stand on his own two feet.

Lenny isn't and never has been a yes man.

Yeah which is why I think he would only come back on his terms. And I really don't see Lawwell submitting to that.

I wasn't aware he didn't sign immediately to be honest and I don't think he was ever a yes man, I just think he had some 'yes man' qualities at times when he was here. There'd be none of that whatsoever if he were ever to come back.

I think he agreed with the direction the club was going in and left when he didn't agree.

Johansen - decent offer then sell
    Bitton - See above

If we can get the squad down to:
Griffiths Allan GMS Christie Rogic Commons Armstrong McGregor Bitton Janko Lustig Tierney Izzy Boyata Simunovic Sviatchenko Gordon Ajer Henderson.

Drop in the right six or seven players and you could put a side together for Europe.

Right and left midfield, central midfield, right and left back, central defense. Striker, goalkeeper. I'd also be looking for players with height and pace. Don't think you need to look much further than Holland and England to begin with and also Croatia.

People are jumping the gun about this Ajer guy. I can see him being another in a long line of 'projects' who we see glimpses of here and there.

Aye, especially from interviews at the time, think Ronny was big part in him signing. Also think Man City agreed to loan us Roberts & Denayer because of the link when he was at Stromsgodset. If so then 2 of our better players in last 2 seasons have come because of Ronny connection. No way am saying he should stay at the helm because of this but somewhere down the line he's regarded.

From what I've heard about him, he's the real deal.

Mark Lawwell beimg at City also helps that.

First season it was excellent. One of the best seasons I've enjoyed as a Celtic fan despite how it ended.

I can see where Sean is coming from though, it could be very up and down at times after that. I had a season ticket during all of his seasons and alot of games were the same as under Deila.

I loved Lennon and always will but I often feel that people have short memories regarding him. Sometimes exaggerating his qualities. A better manager than Deila, no doubt.

Yeah I had a season ticket in the 2011/12 season (I think) when the huns died and pretty much every home game was boring as *. We were better away from home that season mind you.

People do exaggerate how good he was. Other than getting to the last 16 (as silly as that sounds) he wasn't anything special.

Like I said, his record at Hampden was shocking and we had some terrible results in Europe.

Don't know about next season cause obviously we need to get rid of a lot of deadwood and add some quality in key areas but for the remainder of this season I would play a 4-4-2 and go with

    Gordon

    Janko sviatchenko mulgrew tierney

    Roberts rogic Allan commons

    Griffiths CKR

A more attacking setup and I feel these are the hungriest players that would give the most effort and deserve to play

Bitton, johansen, Lustig, Brown etc haven't really done enough recently to deserve a starting place. I would have mulgrew as captain until the end of the season atleast.

Sviatchenko and Tierney are the only two I wouldn't consider offers for, at this stage.

Lustig was once a massive big game player for us, and it's a crying shame to see him look so vulnerable. It's a big call for whoever will make the decision next season, I'm on the fence.

Ambrose, he just isn't what I want at the heart of the defence. He's one of the players who has a decent reputation, outside of Scotland, and I'd take advantage of that when trying to recoup a decent fee.

I like what Boyata's good at, he attacks the ball well, has good recovery pace and has a good presence about him. There are just too many 'buts' in his game though. Gives you the fear one moment, solid the next.

Brown, Bitton and Johansen disappointed me so much on Sunday. Totally failed to control the midfield. It's a midfield trio that on paper looks tailor made for big games. Has the calmness of Bitton and the energy/desire of the other two. Three good players who need to do much, much better.

If ones to be culled, it's Johansen for me. Brown deserves at least another season for the loyalty and great years he's given us. By no means a guaranteed starter if not performing, but he deserves time. Bitton has to improve, and can in my opinion.

Up top we can be as toothless as I've ever seen us. Griffiths can't be faulted after the goals he's scored this season, but Sundays game is exactly what I expect to see when/if he gets a crack at the Champions League.

Have every confidence in him when he's in scoring positions, in any match, against any team, but it's getting him into those positions. Has goals in him in every match he plays, but it coming to fruition in the big games (against better opposition) is something that worries me.

I don't trust players like Mackay-Steven, Armstrong, Christie, Allan even Rogic to do that. SPL games, yes, but I wouldn't hold much hope for it against better teams.

    My summary of the players would be categorised into something like this;

Valuable pros/Still able to do a job: Commons, Bailly, Emilio, Mulgrew, Lustig.

Important/Starting most games: Gordon, Sviatchenko, Tierney, Brown, Bitton, Johansen

Decent prospects: Rogic, Janko, Simunovic, Christie, McGregor, Henderson, Roberts.

Will never make it/Sell: Mackay-Steven, Armstrong, Allan, Kazim-Richards, Cole, Ambrose, Boyata, Forrest, Ciftci, Stokes, Scepovic.

Of the prospects, none of them are nailed on to make it at Celtic for me. I like them all but whether they're good enough is another story. Harsh on Tommy Rogic, he's a lovely player to watch, I'm just not 100% sold.

A season/few bad performances like we've seen from the D.United trio (and at least two of them started off very brightly) could easily have the fans on their backs come next season.

It's a bit of a nightmare as I like things about GMS, Armstrong, Forrest, Allan, Boyata etc, but ultimately I don't trust them.

If we do have a new manager come next season I would imagine he will come in with no bias and get rid of these 'fringe' players. And for the better.

We need a 2010/11 style clear out. If Bitton/Johansen are the 'McGeady's', I'm fine with that.

    New Manager

    Gordon
    New RB--Sviatchenko--Mulgrew--Tierney
    Armstrong--New CM--Rogic
    New ST--New ST--Griffiths

Keep and regularly involve: Simunovic, Lustig, Ajer, Allan, Henderson, Roberts. Keep and play sperodically, either through injury or when others need rested: Janko, McGregor, Mackay-Steven and Kazim-Richards

    Complete overhaul, 4-3-3 played.

Sell Bitton for big money to finance the new team. Punt that * Brown, highest earner off the wage bill. Stokes another high earner to punt and get off the wage bill, same for Commons. Sell Johansen for a few million as well. (Also * out Ambrose, Boyata, Izzaguirre, Forrest, Scepovic, Ciftci and Cole.

Mulgrew as captain, with Sviatchenko and Tierney beneath him.
