Since the Daily Record has effectively been banned from this page, there will be no links posted.

Had a wee quick gander on their mobile site to see what * they were spouting in the run-up to Sunday's game - they've literally (along with the rest of the media up in this lovely country) been very active at posting pro-Rangers/Sevco news, but today's one is THE single most disgusting "story" I have seen conjured up in a long time to attempt to associate CELTIC with their tax avoidance scandals, making us out as bad as them, let me discuss what they * have said:

Log on to the site, and the headline is:

Celtic and Rangers heroes among football stars facing financial ruin as HMRC send cash demands over tax avoidance schemes

Now, notice that they've subtly put Celtic's name before Rangers, for the first time since.......eh......who knows?

It then posts a wee 4 square picture board showing Ibrokes, Parkhead, Hector Taxman and George Osbourne.

It then explains briefly that cash demands have been issued by HMRC over tax avoidance schemes "following the Employee Benefits Trust now bsurrounding Rangers" - eh......what do you mean, "now" :97:

It waffles on before very briefly mentioning that "Old Firm stars have been targeted, as well as at least one player who is likely to play on Sunday" - well, you'd imagine they're callously suggesting one of our Bhoys......naughty!

Again it waffles on about some technical jargon before showing a photo of Alex ferguson (who is claimed may face a huge bill), Rio Ferdinand and Sven Goran Erikson all quickly personally mentioned.

    Some more technical waffle......

Gary Barlow then makes a huge pictorial appearance, being told hes getting hit with a £20m bill - take that ya *

A further bit of * from an unammed Scottish footballer, aye ok then

Oh right, so some unammed source claims these are from investments for the Avatar films, very good.

The article finishes off with naming Barry Ferguson, Davie Murray and Sounness to be stung with huge bills over EBT, Kris Boyd and McLeish also get honourary mentions there, then some about "Rangers Oldco and the players can expect massive tax demands" - I thought they were the same club? :97:

So. A full article on the eve of Sunday's showdown, and here a lovely wee sunshine article appears trying to drag OUR name into the depths of * along with our zombie neighbours along the road. Is there seriously anything these scum wont do to take some of the derry off of their backs? Nah.

I seriously, SERIOUSLY hope we go out and pump this mob of rotten corpses on Sunday - * * their cheerleaders in the meedja right up.

    * yer Sevco, * yer "Oldco Rangers", * yer Daily Record, and * the rest of you citrus * out there expecting your pile of * diddy fitba team expecting to come and beat the Champions of Scotland..........

Just went and read it. Will remain sceptical as it looks like the DR trying to cause controversy again.

Why anyone Celtic fan would read the Daily Record is beyond me.

Thugs'n'thieves, "Who is worse?" before showing a picture of genocidal dictator Saddam Hussein & then Celtic chairman Fergus McCann.

When I was going to Dublin a couple of weeks ago there was a wee bird with a stack of papers:

Paper Bird: "Free paper for the plane?"
    Me: "Aye, thanks..."
Paper Bird: *pulls out Daily Record*
    Me: "On second thoughts...no thanks"

Who do you reckon it will be? Was saying to my old man Griffiths, he thinks Scott Brown.

Think they could be on about Kenny the kisser ? Thought the exact same myself when I read that pish, what really irked me was no Celtic player name, they just lobbed a hand grenade with that story.

I'm sure we'll see a Celtic response and complaint at the very least to this..

This as it calls into question the legality and the ethics/morality of our contracts. Hopefully the board will issue a response, although they will likely wait til next week now.

Aye was Quinn if I remember rightly , sometimes the board can be useful :icon_mrgreen:

Without looking over this in detail from what I know these are investments that the players/individuals have made separate from their clubs.

I'm sure the Daily Record wouldn't have printed it if there wasn't some truth to it. They've never done anything like that before.

The brass neck it takes to wait until a couple of days before the game, with everyone waiting for it every single time, is astounding.

If any Celtic fan still buys or reads this piece of * online they need a proper shake.
