They most certainly do deserve better working conditions and pay but the problem is everywhere these days,27 yrs I've been in my job and we're being asked to do the impossible half the time and when you say it can't be done your then threatened with a performance issue, too many employers can treat people like * and get away with it.good on the junior doctors for taking a stand against a government who think working class people should be paid a pittance in pish working conditions while them and their rich friends get richer on all our backs.

Go on strike and you'll never get back the money you lose, more in favour of a strick work to rule.

Don't like it one bit, they should get back to work immediately. I do have sympathy with doctors when it comes to how the government have handled this; they basically said take it, or else we make you take it. Hardly a good opener but I in now way support the doctors, they are manipulative liars. All the say is it is about care and what is best for the patient, what * bollocks. It's about money. There are two issues here - pay and private care. Health care professional pay has skyrocketed, a consultants basic pay is £100,000 and can triple with overtime, an English GP made £475,000, 26,000 employees make over £100,000, they have consistently increased pay but productivity has halved!

Of course the counter argument to this is that they could make more in the private sector. One must remember when doctors were asked to join the NHS back in 1948 they voted 8 to 1 against it. Why? because they thought it would affective their pay. You know what, I'm sorry we are putting limits on your OT so you are not doing 80 hour weeks earning outrageous sums of cash. Sure, I would do it, but there is a big difference between my job, who cares for no one, and a doctors, who do. Working such hours could easily lead to mistakes. Personally I don't think they should get OT at the weekend if it is still within their contracts hours. That's the way it is. If you say "we can make more going private" then go private. The whole point is that the NHS is not private and that we all make financial sacrifices to make it work. I'm sorry you will no longer be able to make 70,000 a year after OT, but that's the price we pay for the extremely original care system, the NHS. Finally, I'm sick of this emotional blackmail.

I do believe if workers go on strike the company should be able to sack them for doing so

You do know what the NHS is don't you and that most workers in it are in the job to care for people, they aren't in it for the pay or for a social status, i hope you never have to go to A&E and be treated by a junior doctor who is at the end of a 80 hour working week or maybe i do

To be honest I think that is the problem. The government wants to limit hours so things like this and healthcare does not suffer. Instead, Junior Doctors work 70/80 hours a week to make huge amount in OT.

The London Underground train drivers basic is £52,000.

As for the strike action of NHS i agree with it.
I also agree with some of the reasons for the Underground strikes.
I worked for the Underground but also the NHS.

So basically the NHS staff in Scotland are better paid than their equivalent colleagues in England.
