He can't be that bad, too many people judging him without any prior knowledge. He's captain of China at 23 and is coached by the former Yugoslavia coach at international level. Nobody had heard of Bobo before he came to CP, and I remember similar negative comments about him, IMO Bobo's best days are behind him, but he's been a good servant to the club for the money we paid. Celtic are taking him on trial first, and WGS hasn't given contracts to the last 2 trialists after running the rule over them. I think we need someone better than Varga, Sutton could be that man, or perhaps Du Wei might be the answer. Remember if he signs, we will probably make money in the Asian market which would be good for the club, but I don't get the impression that WGS would sign him purely for this reason. Although Dellas was on a Bossman, perhaps his wage demands were too high, and with our limited budget of 5-6M(not 15M) we have to look at other options. WGS will give him a chance, but if he doesn't impress, he'll be sent packing.

I never heard anything about Belmadi leaving, and I thought we would have considering we were informed about Schemmel not being kept on

 

Belmadi left before Schemmel and besides, they play in different positions. Belmadi went to wigan on trial but hes moved on to another team and et up their goal on saturday. cant remember whho it is though.

Shanghai FC defender Du Wei is desperate to win a contract at Celtic.

The 23-year-old defender is expected to arrive at Parkhead next week for a trial with compatriot Xu Yunlong.


But Wei is terrified his club Shenhua Shanghai will renege on an agreement to let him go and scare off Celtic by asking for a huge transfer fee.

Wei said: "The club promised that if a European club wanted me in the summer they would let me go.
