I think we're all agreed Livingston should be nowhere near our board l.

After today's episode though, Bankiers position surely comes under serious threat. Personally I'd like both of them out.

That just came across as total amateurish, and he has now given the salivating media ammunition to fire at the fans while failing to deal with the real issues.

I know you think its for the best mate but jesus you just need to look about on here to see any fan elected board would be lucky to last a year and that would only be if there was a 'marque' signing (gimmick).
We have * that would be demanding all sorts of banners be draped all over the place and when they get told no, they will spit the dummy.
The more I think about it the less attractive it seems tbh.

Since you have the financial expertise would you join the board.
    Serious question.

I agree with this, if this place is anything to go by fan ownership would be absolutely disastrous :smiley-laughing002:

TC on a Friday night is probably not the best barometer of talent that we have within our support.:smiley-laughing002:

As a shareholder I'm happy to proxy my vote to The Celtic Trust..

There would still be a board, we would still have a buisness model and we could still pay for expertise, but we the fans as shareholders would appoint the board and be part of the decision making process.

To suggest it would be anarchy or we would be clueless on what the club requires is an insult to the intelligence of the shareholders who have already passed their voting rights over to the Trust.

    No.
Anyone who does has to remember they are effectively handing away any privacy they are entitled too. Will be judged by 10's of thousands of people who all have absolutely no skeletons in the closet, are all fine up standing pillars of the community and who will all be able to demonstrate exemplary moral and ethical standards ..
And because I am * if I would take a pay cut either :smiley-laughing002:

In defence of board member Ian Livingstone,Ian Bankier expressed outrage at the vitriolic hate fueled abuse the guy and his family were having to endure on social media some of it bordering on racist and some of it in his opinion prosecutable and if you check it bud you will find he was justified

It would be a popularity contest at times and that's counterproductive.

Exactly we should never forget that either :54:
    Smart * ya are
    :smiley-laughing002:

I haven't said I wouldn't proxy mine but not for just now.
Yes I know we would still need to have all that and we would need to pay decent money as well. I honestly think some people on here, given a vote, would be against/not want to pay £50/70/100k + and that would then cause more division.
I was not insulting anyone either who has decided that's what they want to do :38:. I was being honest in my opinion on what the fans would want/expect and that, I think, would cause problems for fans elected to represent the majority.

I was at the AGM today.
Board did well to articulate the economic constraints which shape our operational strategy.
Ian Bankier did well to defend Ian Livingstone in the face of the hatred and abuse he has had to endure on social media.
Peter Lawells belief in Ronnie Deilas long term strategy was ultra positive. The AGM was positive and forward thinking and I hope to * that no genuine Celtic fans on this forum gives any credence to the negativity of og 1s posts

Not saying you were insulting anyone mate, I was just pointing out that in general it is insulting that some in our own support don't think we're up to the job of running our own club.

We would no doubt make mistakes along the way but they would be our mistakes.

For me it's a bit like the independence debate the best people to run the club are the people who love the club and live it every day.

As I said there would be a bit more needed to convince me. I was also being serious ,for the most part, in my reply to drakhan the sheer pressure these elected fans would come under .. I just don't know.
I can see what you mean about the 'live the Club' etc however the reverse can be true as well, sometimes being too attached is a massive flaw as well. Although Pete, for all his flaws, is a Tim as well.

So you went to the AGM and swallowed what they told you, that's up to you. Coming on and commenting on someone who can think for themselves you just don't get it do you.

I remember well during the Kelly's and Whites coming to an inglorious end. There were still guys in our support who were hanging on their every word. Even though the life jackets had been distributed.:50:
