Can anyone give me advice on how to get to Craven Cottage from Kings Cross, as it looks like the kings cross underground station is gonna be closed after last weeks terrible events. I was expecting to get the tube from there?

It's been a while since I lived in London but Euston station isn't too far away (down the Euston Road). You could get the Northern Line to Embankment from there, and then switch onto the District Line for Putney Bridge. Someone else might know better than me though.

I've just been talking to a Fulham fan and he reckons from Kings Cross you get the underground to Hammersmith, from there its a ten minute walk to the Cottage. I'll probably be coming down from Northampton by car! if you have any problems drop me an E-mail.

I have to agree with Paddy, after looking at the map Putney Bridge looks a lot closer than Hammersmith!!!

The Guardian says that right-wing groups are planning to hold a march along the Embankment tomorrow over the London bombings. It might be an idea to avoid the area altogether.

Thanks for the warning, but is anyone meeting anywhere, you no safety in numbers and that, im not sure about not wearing my colours but im taking my younger brother so I dont want to get caught up in anything we cant handle so will probably have to turn into undercover celts! Im not ashamed of the greatest team in the world but these groups arent planning on attacking any one with daisies, so I suppose its safety is the best options.

    Bar Information

The Clem Atlee Bar, Rylston Rd (near Fulham Swimming pool) has a band (Murphy's Law) before and after the game. They are also having a BBQ (weather permitting). The nearest Tube station is West Brompton, District Line.

Im getting off at Euston train station at 12.03pm, that means I will be around London for 3 hours, I havnt really planned this very well but I didnt consider when we got to London we wouldnt be welcomed with open arms(naive you could say) I was expecting to get shown the route by a big line of glorious celtic fans but I dont want to get caught up in the wrong area, I will definately have a look around for the * tavern that seems the safest bet but do you know how far away Euston is from Craven cottage, i mean do you think that it is a train journey or a long walk, to be honest I dont have a clue, I have looked at London maps but cannot get my head around the scale, I cant tell the difference between short stroll and a plane journey.

Get the tube. These instructions were posted on the Kerrydale forum. This website will give you more info including fares. Simple piece of advice if you're new to the tube is to stand on one side of escalators to allow folks in a rush to get past you.

    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tube/

A daily travelcard 'zones 1 to 2' should cover you.

"For those heading to Euston, get the Victoria Line (Blue) to Victoria then change on to the District Line (Green) Westbound.

There are various branches on this line, and the trains for Fulham Broadway / Putney Bridge say Wimbledon on the front and the timer boards overhead.
If there are no Wimbledon trains you can take a Richmond or Ealing train to Earls Court, get off there and pick up a Wimbledon bound train on the same platform."

When I lived in London I liked Putney and Fulham myself. There should be loads of Celtic supporters there as well which is always a bonus :)
