He's no where near as good as Hooper, lunacy to suggest he is.

We'd be absolutely * without him......what did Shep do or what has Shifty done in this respect ?....the wee man can score goals and that's what it's about....yes he can work on other stuff but scoring is the name of the game for me.

It's not lunacy but I'd have Hooper over Griffiths every day of the week.

Lunacy to suggest that a guy who has scored 39 goals from 49 starts is better than Hooper? Griffiths is a proven goal scorer and I think he has more to his game. Like Hooper, he is proven at the highest stage with Celtic in Europe and scores for fun domestically.

I know its hard to fathom, but im convinced if he had film star looks, people would take him more seriously and give him more credit!.:smiley-laughing002:

I think he's brilliant and I like him better than hooper. He's improving too. Even if he scores a hatrick against real madrid some people will still just say "he's just a good spl striker"

No he isn't. He's never even played in a Champions League group stage match so how can he possibly be proven at the highest level in Europe?

I honestly don't know how people still don't value him. He's turning into a very very good striker. He runs the channels well and is a constant threat on the shoulder. Belter of a left foot and is turning into a bit of a Larsson when it comes to headed goals for a wee guy, his leap is fantastic. He wastes just slightly more chances than he should but so do a lot of great strikers, they contine being great strikers though as they score goals because they know where to be better than anyone else.

The argument that he only scores because he gets a lot of chances doesnt wash either if you look at his goals with Dundee, Wolves and Hibs. He's also scored against Malmo and Fenerbache this season which is a step up in class again. Great player.

Could it be because he is Scottish? I've noticed alot of yous (Scots!) always underrate everything Scottish :31: Liegh is banging them in, never hides and constantly helps in other areas of the pitch, guys a * gem imo I hope he grabs his chance for the national team. You can say he is limited but the only thing that matters for a striker is goals and hes certainly not limited in that area :celt_2:

I know exactly why folk still don't rate him, his off-field persona. It's certainly not because he's scoring every single game.

He's a quality wee player, can score a wide variety of goals, his desire on the field is something that is invaluable and something you can't instill in a player, he's good in the air and he's a hard worker. He's a cracking wee player and one that has totally turned my opinion around from when we signed him.

Saying that, I think he's a player that still has another level or two in him. If he gets that bit more clinical he could be a goal or two a game for us, he does tend to have a lot of chances in a match and his hold up play is steadily improving this year, linking up with those behind him.

He's a good player, I think there's more to come from him though. He's a tireless worker, PaulM said up there people don't like him because of his off field persona, well they should look at him in the last year, that's ehat I'd want every player to be like, hard working on and off the pitch, passionate on and off the pitch. He's toed the line and turned himself around and it's reflected in him on the football pitch.

A lot of people still think of him as a stupid wee ned, perhaps unfairly. In terms of playing ability, he's good enough to do it in Europe and in the league, so no complaints from me. His goalscoring record will be kinder to him.
