He was never going to play today, until Thursday he hadn't even been to Celtic Park or met another player. Would have been utter madness to play him.

He has came in with a big reputation and a big fee. Hope he lifts the team as he has been Croatia captain at all youth levels

He is only just turned 21. Even Kompany had his ups and downs at such a young age. I will be astonished if he becomes the instant rock that we need. Protecting our back four should be priority number one this season.

It was more tongue in cheek mate, given our defensive turmoils. Think it's a bit much to be looking for the new guy who speaks sketchy broken English and is only in the door 5 mins to be the one who lifts the team, though. Being captain at youth levels is a good thing to have on his CV but this is the main stage he's on now rather than youth/development team football.
There are others in the squad, Brown, Lustig, Gordon, Johansen even who we should be looking to to provide those lifts. Ideally an individual would have the mental strength to lift themselves as well but this obviously is an issue with too many of our players at the moment.

Stab in the dark guess, like Scepovic I don't think Ronny wanted him.

How he never played him at the weekend I'll never know, and for me will maybe try and go with Boyata and Charlie at the back in most games.

It's obvious why he never played at the weekend. He had trained with the team for one day, it would have been mental to play him.

Really hoping this guy will turn out to be a player. The second goal for Aberdeen on Saturday summed up how much we need a commanding centre half. Hoping this guy will fill the void left by VVD.
