..... the treble this year for a prolonged run in the Europa League?

Would you settle for just the league title and say last eight or Semi Finals of EL?

TBH I would settle for semi final of EL and just league but if we don't make it out of the group stages of EL, treble is a MUST this year. No excuses or distractions after Christmas.

    Thoughts?

I probably would ... But I don't know if I could handle the heartbreak of losing in the semi

Absolutely. The treble would be fantastic, but a run in Europe would top it. It would do everyone the world of good, from the support, to the team and manager, and would also get us noticed again. Right now we must be classed by others as a 'wee team' on the European stage.

Just getting to the last 8, and taking the scalp of a big team would do me.

The treble is a distraction. We can win it any year for the rest of our history. We have a small window to make something happen in Europe, possibly less than 10 years. Failure to qualify for the last 2 years have probably cost us this in fairness but Europe is everything.

if we can't do anything in europe then a treble just feels a bit more hollow, as it just says more about scottish football than about how good we are.

    Europe for me

Agreed we need 3 quality players..... even with that I doubt this squad have the mentality to get past the last 32. Big changes required.

Absolutely. Both cups are really just there to complement the league title for us. The latter stages of European competition would make for a very interesting season.

I do worry about attendances this season. Morale is low and belief in the current backroom team even lower.

Semi in the Europa League? Are you nuts!? Do you have any idea at all as to how many champions league class teams we would then have to beat?

A quarter final is impossible, much less semi finals.

Losing the Champions League is a massive blow but it can't be argued from a competitive standpoint right now Europa League is our level. It doesn't have anywhere near the prestige but it is what it is.

I would sacrifice both domestic cups to get into deep waters in it. Restore a bit of confidence and pride in both the Manager and the Club.

Bullshit. If we can be smarter than our opposition and with a packed Celtic Park behind us, we can beat a lot of fancied sides over 2 legs. For reference check out how Malmo got on last night.

I disagree. Getting our * handed to us in all 6 CL games against the best of the best will make our players better than playing in the EL groups.

We should target 3rd in the CL group with a view to winning the EL. The only way to get to this level is to play the Bayerns of this world.

Also the finance that this brings in (in theory) means we should be able to spend real money.

The damage from not qualifying for the last 2 years has undone all the good that Lennon done. Sad times.

Once in a while when they have a bad night and we have a good one, sure we can! Consistently? No * way, and that really shouldn`t even be debated.

Lenny`s team did not consistently win in Champions League either. Celtic is always playing at their very, very top level when they do well in Europe, there is hardly any denying that. Do you really see us beating Borossia Dortmund even under Lenny except if there is a fluke game when Borossia plays sub par and we above and beyond? Of course not!
Some realism please! We are all fed up with the fact that we are not in the Champions League, but lets be real, even if we were, we would hardly get far there.

    yes.

Sick of all this treble talk as if it's the be all and end all, if we do it then great, but the league and the Scottish cup are the two trophies that really matter.
